  1. Hello everyone, Been doing Alot of reading and searching regarding lifting my 2017 Silverado Z71 crew cab. There's so much info out there it can be overwhelming. I have already decided to NOT go with a suspension lift due to cost and not wanting to change the factory ride. Considering I am wanting a visual lift for cosmetic reasons only, I see no reason as to spend the extra money when I am looking for no performance enhancement. I am however conflicted between going with a 2.5" front level and 1.5" body lift, or a front 2.5" front level AND rear level. I am wanting to stick with 18" wheels and try to get a 33-34" tire under the truck. While cost is a factor, I want to ensure the longevity of my truck and not cause TOO much wear and tear on the trucks components. So if one of the above options is "better" as far as less wear and tear on stock components than the other, that would be a factor as well. Any info is appreciated.
  2. 7/6/17.....dropped the truck off this morning due to vibrations still present, mostly in steering wheel. Stated they did another pick test, sent the results to GM and were told everything was "in spec" and not to replace anything. Surprised it took them this long to give me the shaft.
  3. Mine has become only apparent in the steering wheel after a balance and alignment. However they acknowledged this as well, buts on it's way in again tomorrow for the steering wheel shake. See if I get any closer to a fixed truck...
  4. Taking it back tomorrow 7/5/17 due to steering wheel vibration. Have been driving it for a week and it is still vibrating, severity varies it seems with no rhyme or rhythm.
  5. Well I think I'm going to attempt to take it back this week sometime. Still more vibration than I find acceptable in such an expensive vehicle. However, it is now only in the steering wheel. I know it to be abnormal due to the loaner I had for a week NOT having the same issue. My concern is when I got it back they told me about the slight vibration being only present in the steering wheel, however they found it acceptable. I drove approximately 100 miles today (50 to and from) a Reds game, so 99% highway. The steering wheel vibration was apparent the majority of the trip, varying degree of intensity. Very few instances where it wasn't apparent at all....I'm at a loss.
  6. Ok, approx 15 mile uninterrupted highway drive (minus being stopped by a trooper) cruising between 75-80mph. Definite improvement in vibration. Don't feel it much in the seat or pedals, water in water bottle doesn't look like it's boiling anymore, just normal rippling from driving....however, there does seem to be some vibration in the steering wheel, as they stated. Haven't decided if I can live with it or not. Will probably drive it for a week and see if maybe I'm just -looking- for an issue. The loaner was smoother (in the steering Atleast) but idk if the 20" wheels and tires had anything to do with it. Overall, at the moment I am happy. I'll decide it I press the issue in a week. Im just happy to have MY truck back, so I want to eliminate my excitement as a possible reason of just wanting to hold on to it.
  7. Just got a call.....stated they "fixed" the vibrations..... HOWEVER, "it still vibrates, but very little, almost not noticeable, but it's fine to drive." Well, guess we'll see when I pick it up in a few hours.....
  8. Yeah, maybe I'm just being too pessimistic, but I just -can't- imagine the wheels/alignment causing the vibration in the seat/pedals, and this bushing causing the same amount of vibration only in the steering wheel, causing the whole ride to shake....Again, I hope I'm wrong but...I have a feeling when I pick it up, it will be going right back. Such a bad feeling. First NEW vehicle I've been able to afford in my short life...thought it was going to be an enjoyable experience! But enough with the pity, just want my truck back, fixed, and right....owell. I won't give up yet!
  9. This is true. I am glad they are acknowledging the vibration and ARE working to fix it...just hope, after the fact, they don't give me the "in spec" answer. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic!
  10. 2017 CCSB Silverado Z71...vibrations between approximately 70-80mph. Took it in to the dealership at approx. 1130 miles. Dropped the vehicle off at 1pm 6/26/17. Yesterday, the 27th I received a phone call advising me they had road forced balanced the wheels, and performed an alignment. Stated they were still getting vibrations, and we're going to conduct the picometer test. 6/28/17 - received a call from service dept. advising test indiciated vibrations in steering wheel only now....said they spoke to someone higher up in the GM service dept (or something along those lines) -and were advised to replace the Steering Gear Bushing...? I asked if that was going to cure "all" the vibration, I.e. What I felt in the pedals and seat etc. they stated that's what the balancing and alignment cured, stated now the vibration was only in the wheel. Should get it back Friday....I can't say I'm too hopeful, but I'm hoping this cures it....
  11. I have 15% on my front two, which I was told would match the rear. It looks to be a perfect match to me and I am Very OCD.
