  1. Hi, it appears that Rock Auto has the steering gear for your truck: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/gmc,1997,k1500+pickup,5.7l+v8,1158342,steering,steering+gear,7416 This is based on having a 5.7 liter engine. Marc
  2. Is accessorizing your truck something that you are currently interested and/or investing in? IF YES: What is your to top priority when choosing accessories for your truck? (Quality/Price/Look/Reviews). YES, quality is top priority. Would you purchase something because it's priced cheaper, regardless of negative reviews, or options of higher-end, better quality products? (YES or NO) NO, have bought enough low priced items that fail. I always check the higher quality offerings. Thinking of Sylvania headlight bulbs, I have purchased the SilverStars. Would you purchase an accessory purely based on how it looks? Even if that means the product does not work well or may not work at all? NO, not usually. It must work well.
  3. Hello, I just replaced mine in my '98 Cheyenne K2500. In my case, I purchased a new one at the local dealer. It is a press fit with ridges covered in a red sealing material. I drilled the old one out with a drill slightly larger than the hole and increased the bit size until it spun out of the axle. I then used a socket to press it in.
