  1. Had it happen to my 2017 Silverado 3500HD, dealership did a reflash with an update and all has been good.
  2. I had an issue with my 2015 Sierra 3500HD but not enough to impact light output and burned off with light use or being in the sun, everything was sealed and no issues with rodents. It is frustrating to pay as much as we do for a new pickup only to have these minor issues which erode our loyalty and confidence in manufacturers products. I traded to a 2017 Silverado 3500HD and have had no moisture issues in the headlamps.
  3. I had a similar issue with our 2015 GMC 3500HD except the heated portion came on and stayed on with no rhyme or reason. If this had been winter time here in MN I wouldn't have minded except it happened in July. I had some other issues with mirrors and navigation so several reflashes of BCM and replacement of radio and no more issues with heated seats or mirrors but the navigation issue persisted.
  4. Posting this in case anyone else runs into this in the future. I went to go to work the other night and got on the road and flipped to high beams, light indicated on dash and fog lamps turned off but no high beam output. Thought maybe it was a fluke so went out after a bit at work and tried it again, nothing. Did some research to see if anyone else has had this issue and saw some 1500s had issues with BCM. Did some more checking to see what fuse/relay to check/replace but apparently there is only one fuse for the headlight circuit and no replaceable relay. Brought it in on Monday and they had to replace the fuse block as relays are built in and not serviceable. I don't know what the cost was as it was under warranty. What happened to making simple things like this serviceable? It was frustrating to me but maybe most people don't do any work on their vehicle nowadays. Like I said, posting this in case someone else runs into the same problem.
  5. Had the update done, display is not near as bright at night in the cab but the clarity is gone also. Trade one thing for another I guess.
  6. Called dealership to schedule first service, asked if there was a fix for bright backup camera display at night, service manager said he'd never heard of that issue. I mentioned the update you listed and there it was, a fix for an issue he said he's never heard of. Thanks for posting the update information.
  7. Had this same issue on our 2015.5 GMC 3500HD, numerous times and very frustrating. Dealership did serveral updates and calibrations with no resolve. We would turn off the display only to have it reactivate itself and start flipping screens or scrolling. Best way I found to fix it was trade it on our 2017 Silverado 3500HD, no issues since.
  8. I went back to a 6.0 due to the fact I did not utilize the Duramax enough to justify it and my concerns for my long term owning of it. We just towed our Jayco 284BHBE travel trailer for the first time with the 2017 6.0 (1500 miles on odometer) and it did fine but definitely a difference with transmission kickdowns on very minor hills (Duramax had none). Mileage for this trip (120 ea way) a couple years ago with Duramax was 13 and I got 9.5 with the 6.0. I can not recall weather conditions for Duramax trip but this trip with 6.0 was cruise at 60 with minor to moderate hilly terrain and no wind to speak of.
  9. TPMS are not MIA on 3500HD pickups, you need to find one with 10K rating. I just test drove a 2017 3500HD with the 10K rating and it had TPMS, I do not want the TPMS so found a different pickup with 10.8K rating without them. They are a useful tool but I grew up with a tire gauge and still know how to use it.
  10. I pull our travel trailer (34' 8000 lbs +/-) and notice it sometimes. I've borrowed an Aluma trailer with upright ramp and smaller enclosed trailer and for whatever reason I could really feel them back there. Who knows, weird aerodynamics or whatever. My pickups (duramax or 6.0) didn't have any issues pulling but I could just tell there was something back there. It's not always about the weight.
