  1. 1993 Chevy Silverado 1500 V8...not sure if the 5.0l or the 5.7l. Odometer reads 504,xxx miles, but the PO (father in law) says engine was put in with 30k miles, and theres receipts showing the tranny was rebuilt about 2 years ago, in Georgia. Im located in Las Vegas nevada. Hi all, I just started having a crazy transmission fluid leak. Its not coming from the gasket, but somewhere above what I think is the torque converter. It pours out when I drive the truck, and a few minutes after I stop. Ive been checking the level of the fluid since this issue started, and it doesnt seem to actually drop very much. I havnt noticed a performance difference, like slippage or anything. Just a lot of smoke from the fluid dripping onto the exhaust. After I first noticed the smoking, I checked all fluid levels. Something i noticed, and continue to notice, is that the tranny fluid is very clean. Does anyone have an idea what could be leaking? Ive checked, and its definitely not the gasket on the pan. Does anyone around Vegas, or atleast in your own town have an idea of what It would cost to have this issue fixed? Do I need a new transmission? I dont think I have what it takes to drop the transmission myself, and Im just trying to figure out options. Im in one of those predicaments where you know, you need a car to make money, but you need money to fix the car, but you cant get money unless you can drive your car, and you cant drive your car. Thanks all!
