I recently bought a 94 Sierra as a work truck, but it's got tons of problems. At some point, someone installed a push button starter, I'm guessing because the ignition on the column turned without a key. I really don't know. Anyway, I had to take the dashboard off to fix the A/C, and I figured I may as well rewire the ignition with a new lock cylinder while the whole thing is taken apart. I've got the lock cylinder in place, but I'm having trouble tracing the wires.
The engine was replaced with a 5.7L, but I have no idea what it originally had. There are several connections just hanging loose, which I'm assuming is because of the engine swap, but again, no idea. I've got the Haynes book with wiring diagrams, but it's not helping much. Several wires have been replaced with different colors than the original, etc. I can take some pics if that would help, but I'm not even sure where to start. I did notice the pink wire under the steering column is looped back into the same bracket to bypass. The wire to the starter motor/solenoid near the bottom of the engine is blue with a red stripe.
Thanks for any advice, pics of how the wiring is supposed to look, etc.
