  1. Gm is prioritizing the trucks over car .. but with the chip plant burning in Japan, it’s going to get worse... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I do my own, unless under lease maintenance. Too many people rushing and not doing a diligent job. Well said by many others. Bottomline, sloppy maintenance might lead to a failure that’s your problem, sludge, or overfilling... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Did you get a service engine light as well? The Saturns would shift hard up and down when they went into fault mode to protect the transmission. It was all gears, not just 4th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Agree with you Adam. Park sensors should not be failing under 40k. Maybe at 400k, but the engineer should be embarrassed to have to replace the whole shifter at $600. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I think I saw it do that 2 or 3 times over 3 years... so hopefully it was an update. Best to you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I heard they pushed a big update. Maybe you just need to give it satellite time(not in a covered structure... so it could. I had my screen black out a year or two ago and it came back. I think it’s update related. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If you put the truck in neutral, shut it off and tried to remove the key it would not go. I should warn you, my wife drove it to work gave up trying to get it out.. so just left it I. The lot, key in. Took the key fob and locked the doors. 4 hours later Onstar gave me a low battery warning and suggested starting the truck. Remote start would not work as the computer thinks it’s no in park. If you have onstar try it. I’d imagine the key fob won’t work either. My son drove to her work and started it, and the key came out for him after he moved it a little. Give the dealer a hard time if you take it to them. Find the service bulletin if you can. 8. I had this problem. 2017 Canyon about 39,000 miles. The park sensor is not signaling park. Hence the key is stuck. There is a service bulletin on it. I would start the truck, move it and inch and re-park it. I wondered if the leather around the shifter was the issue, mine worked it’s way down. I’ve heard clean your key...etc Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Have a friend with the 3.0l duramax... says the same thing... insane milage! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I did not get hit for 700, but wife has a retired friend who the dealer robbed. I’m at 39,000 and the dealership recently flipped hands. Since then, I haven’t been impressed. Been with them 20 years and was really happy until 6 months ago. Not sure what I will do when this one comes off lease in 3 months. I like the GMC’s. Probably will have to have a heart to heart with the dealership manager/new owner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Just pulled I. To moms place in Detroit metro area. Hit 36.5 mph on way down, but traffic lights afound town started dragging it back to earth. My ave milage over the 39,****** miles is 27.0. It’s starting to slide down as my work location is in the city now vs out of town 20 min. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. There is an interlock between the ignition switch and the “Park” Sensor. If you leave the truck in accessory mode.. in 4-6 hours you will get a low battery warning via onstar. Remote start does not work if the truck is not in park. For me.. I have avoided going to the dealer because, the will spend a lot of money working on the key...and the issue is the park sensor placement. My never fail routine (so far). Foot on brake stopped, push forward and right to park... hold the park shifter forward and right. Foot off brake, let truck settle, release hold on park, remove key. Replacing the ignition switch..not the problem... $700... I don’t know cost on the park switch. I imagine as they get more of these to fix, they will get smarter... The is a 2017 Canyon diesel. Diesel is awesome, Canyon has been really a great truck...my first problem... 37,000 miles. Ave fuel economy over 37,000 is 27.0 mpg, best is 38.4 over 50 miles... I 75 through Kentucky with heavy fast traffic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I have a 2017 duramax 2.8 with the long box. It’s great. I love it. Most the time the mid size works well for me. I hauled pavers in the bed and had to make two trips so I didn’t overload the bed. Bed rated at 700# vs 1000# on the Half ton. The pavers were 5# each and needed 360blocks. I made it with 2 trips. The half ton would have needed 2 trips too. A friend got the 1/2 ton Chevy in February. He’s beside himself. Previously he had a 2500 and a 6.6TD. He can’t believe the milage, drivability and performance. I’m Thinking about upsizing. Probably depends if I lease or buy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If you love gas mileage, you’re going to be happy. I have 36000 on my 2017 Canyon long bed and my trucks lifetime mileage, including getting stopped in bumper to bumper, towing a 4500# boat/trailer is 27.1 mpg. On the Canadian Highway 17 I got 39.4 mpg over 50 mile rolling Average. It took an 8% grade to make the tranny downshift while doing 60mph.... it’s a happy little motor. I do go off road and it likes it. Narrow than a full-size, and short wheel base, I can get in and out of places that make the big trucks shy off. My lease is up I. October. Not sure if I’ll do the canyon(2.8l duramax) or the Sierra (3.0l duramax). I do miss the bigger box. I have a friend with the 3.0 l who really likes it(prior vehicle was a 6.6l duramax. 15. I should say.. many dealers charge a diagnostic fee for pulling the code. You didn’t mention that. I bought a hand held code puller and it can reset the error codes, so you can clear it if it makes sense. I’d clear loose gas cap and other non-problem codes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
