  1. No I haven't really messed with the truck it's not my current daily driver.. On another topic I have always used sea foam for cleaning gummed up fuels systems (Mainly Carburetor)with good success.. Is there a better additive to use for fuel injection systems?
  2. I looked for chewed wires because I have rad of several cases of this happening...but will continue to look... I wondered about the injectors, this is what happened to the last motor, it sat and I bought some rebuilt injectors and one was defective and it filled my my cylinder with gas and hydrolocked the engine and I hit the key and snapped the rod into pieces. So I have been running some sea foam my gas hoping to clear them up
  3. I have a 2001 2500HD 6.0 gas, it sat for a year or so. Now I have multiple miss fire code. I hooked up my scanner and it's Showing Cylinders 1,6,8 are missing firing. They appear to be working on idle. The plugs and wires were new when I parked it.. Any suggestions where to start with this ?
  4. I just installed a different engine in my 01 2500HD 6.0L the replacement engine was also supposed to be a 2001 engine, one of the coils packs was bad and I went to swap one off my old engine but they mounted different. Did GM use 2 different coils packs on the 2001 or is this a newer engine?
  5. Ok so I went to Napa and booght the bolts and the gaskets. Got 10.9 bolts Got the stud out of the head and had to drill out the EGR studs and retap. On the replacement engine the passengers side manifold had a crack on the back side. So we had to reuse my original. Now were putting to back together and I don’t see any old flange gaskets? Is there not any on the pipes that mount to manifolds?
  6. Ok so we’re getting ready to put the replacement engine in my 2001 2500HD 6.0 and one of the exhaust bolts was broken of like they do. So we removed all the bolts and are going to replace them. So my question is where should I get the new bolts GM replacements or get them from somewhere else and use stainless or grade 10.9. And do we use anti-seize or not?
  7. I have owned the truck since it has 15000 miles it was a GM program vehicle. It now has 130,000. I currently can’t prove this but my brother and I both believe the injector was bad and pumped the cylinder full of fuel and hydrolocked the engine causing the rod to break.
  8. Ok so a while back I posted about my 2500HD running rough, I changed the Injectors (2 weren’t firing) and then it ran as bad if not worse and started knocking. Well today day I finally got around to pulling the engine apart to find #3 rod broke in half and into pieces. Anyone have any ideas on what happened?
  9. Thanks for the Reply I looked at another blazer 2 wheel Drive last night it was a 2000 year model and it looked to have a EGR valve sticking out of the front of the intake or something similar, do all the 2000 model years have the intake issue of leaking ? and is this the same engine I have now ? Thanks again
  10. I currently have a 2003 Blazer with a 4,3 engine, and when I bought it I was told that it has a series 2 engine, How many different engines were there for these trucks, ? Can someone tell me the differnces of these engines ?
  11. I have a 2001 2500HD With a 6.0 litre, Do not buy the Flowmaster Cat back kit they only last a year , I spent big bucks and a year later the pipes broke right out of the muffler I called and they didn't want to work with me and told me the kits were not built as heavy.. I since replaced it with a custom system with a "V Force" Muffler sounds good and not as loud as the flowmaster and it has 2 tailpipes.... When this goes bad i'm going with tailpipes only.....
