  1. I've had my truck in multiple times for rear end suspension noise/clunking. They replaced the axle shafts and that didn't help. After several more times in the shop that they told me it was supposed to be this way so I stayed gave up for awhile. Went back last week b/c I'm getting close to my warranty end and they supposedly cleaned and greased the leaf springs. When I was going over it with them the service adviser asked if this was the noise I was talking about and grabbed the bed shaking the truck back and forth. He said that noise is axle shaft play and is supposed to be that way. That made me laugh. Picked it up yesterday and within a mile the noise was back. Its bad enough that it gets people's attention in my parking lot at work. I really want to love this truck but with all the little issues I've had I have a feeling this thing is going to nickel and dime me to death when the warranty runs out. This is my 5th Chevrolet (3 trucks and 2 Tahoe's) vehicle and quality wise this one has been the worst. None of my other trucks have made noises like this one does and that's not even getting into the transmission shifting and engine oil consumption issues that this truck has. Will be taking a hard look at other manufacturers when I decide to make a change.
  2. No go on the axle shafts fixing the noise though it did seem to help a little for the first few days. Really does it when I'm backing into a parking spot with the wheel turned. Back to the dealership again next week (3rd time for this). I have a laundry list of issues on this truck now to go along with the rear end noise: 1. Exhaust valve squeaking like crazy whenever I hit the gas. Dealer said you either get one that squeaks or one that shakes. Good to know. 2. There is a really bad squeak in the front end whenever I hit any small bump in the road. Sounds like a plastic on plastic squeak. 3. Noticed last week there is a rattle in the dash just above the head light knob. If I tap on the dash there is a rattle/vibration. 4. I also get a nice creaking sound whenever someone gets out of the truck. If I grab the bed and rock the truck back and forth I can replicate the sound. 5. On the drivers side there are tons of little paint imperfections. 6. Onstar randomly activates and then ends the call without actually calling out. 7. Rear camera goes out about once per month. Have to shut it down, let it sit for a minute and then restart before it will work. I can't get it to repeat so the dealership won't do anything. 8. A/C randomly goes into recirculate. Dealer said this is normal. My 1 1/2 year old truck sounds more like a 10 year old truck with all the noises it makes. I like the truck but all these little problems are getting ridiculous.
  3. I just had my '14 in for the second time. When I back into a parking spot or make a turn at very slow speeds I get a loud clunking noise. They replaced the axle shafts, seals and clips. Seems to have resolved most of the noise but I'll test it out better today.
  4. Mine is a '14 1500 Z71 4wd crew cab with 18,000 miles and its doing this bad. Its quite embarrassing to drive through my parking lot at work b/c its so loud it makes people stop and look. Been doing it for a while now and I can't tell where its coming from. I took the spare completely out and it still makes the noise. Torqued the leaf spring bolts, shock mount bolts and anything else I could find and still no change. When I shut any of the doors with a little force there is something under the truck that rattles but I haven't been able to locate it. Now I have a squeak in the front area that is driving me nuts. It happens every time I any small bump in the road. I like this truck but its driving me nuts with all the noises. It will be going to the dealership shortly.
  5. My 2014 does the same thing and its very annoying. The problem is I can't figure out pattern so I can't recreate it for the dealer. Also I think I have a leaky heater core. Every once in a while when I turn the heat on I can smell antifreeze. Another thing that is difficult to repeat.
