  1. I was charged $60 for the Beast Sun Shell. They're around via the net from a few between $45 and $85. I have just about 13K on the 2nd rebuild that has the Beast and the Alto 3-4 clutch pack. It's holding up well. I do notice that with the Alto the top end shift are firm and quicker than before, and in general the temps have stayed around 170F (via Denali cluster guage) even during the 100+ heat
  2. I've had 2 failures, one at 34K and again at 80K. Both times was the Sun Shell busting apart. Both times on a 1-2 shift, one on a freeway on-ramp, second pulling out of a shopping mall. Neither time was I towing. Both times, there was a stall in forward movement then a "slam" shift into 2nd, with resulting no 2,4,R. The first repair was under warranty by dealer. The second repair I had a non-dealer repair shop use the Beast Sun Shell and the 3-4 clutch pack changed to Alto. I do have a Wester's 91 Hot tune with the majority of TQM removed during both instances.
  3. Just mentioning this, as it was more common of a symptom with 70's/80's vehicles. If you are in a constant habit of topping off the tank (making an even $ amount or gallon reading) after the nozzle clicks off the first time, over time the vapor canister eventually becomes over saturated from liquid gasoline "gumming" up the charcoal, causing a hard to fill situation. On OBDII vehicles now, there are more sensors and solenoids for the vapor capture systems. Usually the ECM would flag an error long before you have a hard fill. But, computers, what can ya do these days.
  4. Chris Crocker owns a Tundra. Thanks for letting us know Chris, uh Trailrumprider, uh DAVE. Well if your gonna try to take down this forum, you need a partner right? It's a new millenia, they just can't quit each other.
  5. Isn't this another one of those topic threads that should have been placed in Off-Topic or the since it was about paint, the Appearance sections? For a mid-April Fool thing, is the hint for these things to come where it starts out that it's someone else's fault. I guess if it were in the proper section, someone there would have recommend to clay the paint. Although, aren't the Tundra's all clay anyways (design studio models). But given past posting requests, I wouldn't reply such things. Plus this one will definitely get us all banned.
