  1. Got the truck fixed. Took it to dealer finally and they told me it was actually the passenger side that was not reading to correct speed. I put a new bearing in this afternoon and after a 5 mile trip around the block, I never had any problems. I had put a different known good sensor in it over the weekend and that hadn't fixed it, so the bearing was next. That bearing was only about a year and a half old, but the tone ring inside must have been messed up in some form, but nothing I could see. Oh well, ABS works now and I don't have to stare at the lights on the dash.
  2. I have the fuse pulled for now so that i don't have any accidents, I had to many close calls and pulled the fuse as it is safer than the abs kicking in every stop
  3. Found out it is the passenger side sensor not reading the correct speed. It is an aftermarket wheel bearing that is about a year and a half old. I took the stock sensor out of the old driver side bearing and put it in the passenger side and it still acts up. I had the dealership tell me what was wrong, but I wasn't gonna shell out the money for them to put a gm bearing & sensor in it. I'm afraid to spend another $115 on an aftermarket and not fix the problem.
  4. One wheel bearing & sensor is brand new and the other side I already cleaned up with the same issue. Something else is going on but I haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment to get it in to the dealership.
  5. My truck already was in the shop 3 1/2 years ago for the recall and within the last year I've replaced the wheel bearings anyways, which came with new sensors. I don't believe the dealer will do the recall a 2nd time for free
  6. The driver sensor is brand new because it was with the bearing. Even the passenger side bearing/sensor is just over a year old and looked just fine. Unless it's my rear abs sensor, which is in the rear axle or transfer case, I'm not sure. I'm getting tired of screwing with it. The dealer can tell me what's wrong with it, because I give up
  7. I pulled the sensor on the passenger side and cleaned it up, came out ok, and wasn't all that dirty. It had 3 shims on it, in which i left all 3 on, but cleaned them all up. Before I even left the driveway, abs kicked in again. I pulled the fuse until I can get it to the dealer because I have had many close calls and it's getting annoying. Last night when I came home from work, just perfect, no issues....Today, I drove 1 mile over to my grandparents and it did it about 2 or 3 times that I had to slow down to stop.
  8. I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 and am having issues with my ABS. When coming to a stop, the ABS will kick in when under 10ish mph. I started to happen after I changed my driver front wheel bearing. It was a cheap Ebay bearing, so, now, about 3-4 months later, I bought a new wheel bearing and installed it today to see if it changed. Nope. When I changed it a couple months ago, the ABS & Brake light would come on but reset when I would shut the truck off. The ABS pump is not having the typical issue where it runs non-stop, but it kicks in for no reason.
