  1. Hey guys. I got an 03 1500 4x4 with what seems to me to be an electrical issue. I press the AC button and sometimes the clutch engages, sometimes it doesn't. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so what was the fix ? I was thinking of unplugging the harness off of the compressor and energizing it via a 12 volt jumper to see if it's the clutch coil or the head unit.. Whatcha think ?
  2. I had to replace one if mine a couple of years ago. GM impact sensor system resets itself when you replace a sensor. Your ASR light should have gone out on it's own. I don't know why you have a DTC. I have a GM Tech II scanner and it showed no DTC after sensor replacement. I got an 04 Silverado.
  3. Locate your RPO Code label, usually on the glove box door. Do a Google search search for 05 GMC SIERRA RPO Codes and match your codes with the list. That will give you just about all of the build / option info you want.
  4. Looks like some kind of retainer clip for either wires or possibly a fuel line.
  5. My 03 Silverados headliner is sagging as well. There is no kits out there that i know of. What i plan on doing is pulling the headliner out, remove material and the old foam stuck to the base. Purchase liner material off of eBay and with spray glue made for headliners, recover it.
  6. So far everything I have done to my 03 Silverado 4x4 required metric wrenches.
  7. I had a similar situation when I replaced all of mine on my 04 Silverado 1500 4x4. You may have air trapped in EBCM which is preventing you from getting a good bleed. If you know of someone who has a GM Tech 2 or a Tech 2 clone you can activate the EBCM pump to bleed out the air. I didn't have one at the time so what i did was drive my truck on loose graveled area and hit the brakes hard to cycle the pump. I did that a few times and re-bled the brakes with success.
  8. I had almost 10 degree of play side to side until the steering box was adjusted. Now it's perfect. Turn the steering wheel, truck turns. No play.
  9. Another thing you want to have checked is the steering box . After i replaced everything short of control arm bushings on my 03 Silverado 1500 4x4 ( all stock ) and had it aligned I also asked the mechanic to adjust the steering box. I made a world of difference. No more lose, wandering front end.
  10. If you were to use a shop like Maaco the cost for a single-coat synthetic enamel paint job ranges from $300 to $900, with an average of $566. A mid-level paint job with a higher-quality paint and additional prep work like removing rust and dents can range from $1,000 to $3,500 with an average of $1,316.You can save a lot of money if you do most of the prep work yourself like a good cleaning and degreasing, removal of parts, trim etc,etc that would need to be taped off if left on and so on.
  11. My 03 1500 and 04 Vette, both purchased new have been doing it since day one and still doing it to this day. No problems what so ever, other then a the annoying "slap" until warmed up.
  12. I'm sure he can....send him a I'm sure he can. Send him a PM and ask him .
  13. As it was said to me...... " Well it looks easy on YouTube"...LOL I replaced the stepper motors in my 03 Silverado along with the cluster lights to LED's but when it came to the HVAC unit I BUTCHERED it up. No big deal, I'll get another one....and I screwed that one up too ! Along comes member Cody7 to save the day. I sent him my HVAC unit and he managed to salvage the circuit board that I screwed up and made it work. If you want to do a LED conversion and you're unsure about doing it yourself then give Coby7 a shout ! The MAN KNOWS HIS STUFF ! Thanks Agian Coby7
  14. he's got a point there.........if you have it apart might as well change them all..do it once and your done !
  15. There is an article towards the bottom of the page that address's fuel gauge / fuel pump issues: http://drspeedometer.com/ultimate-guide-to-gm-gauge-problems-and-how-to-repair
