  1. has anyone had problems with the DDM tuning HID kits not working properly? First the driver side bulb would not ignite intermittently, if i manually turned the headlights on/off it will ignite but if I start the truck in the dark it will sometimes not light until i turn on/off manually. This is happening more and more frequently. Then yesterday I could not get either bulb to light no matter how many times i turned them on/off manually. (It was cold and the truck hadnt been started for 2 days) After being in the Auto setting, engine running, for about 10 minutes they both finally lit up.... Anyone have any advice/similar problems? HID kit has been installed problem-free (until now) for almost a year
  2. I thought some of you might find this helpful. Not wanting to waste my time with the dealer again I fixed the squeak/creak problem from the rear leaf springs myself. Heres how: While rotating my tires the other day I raised the rear of the truck and rested it on jack-stands placed under the frame (in front of rear axle, roughly underneath the back of the cab/front of the bed) letting the axle hang creating space between leafs. I used some auto glass urethane adhesive on a linoleum flooring rectangle cut 2"x4" (that I got from the free samples in the flooring section at home depot, chose a dark color) I put the make-shift pads between any of the leafs that looked to be making contact. Rear suspension is quiet now. expect it to last! easy and cheap, I did use a chisel and/or a pry bar to create some more space between the leafs
  3. '14 Sierra AT owner here. One of my compaints about the truck is the intermittent bad creaking or squeaking sound I get from what is undoubtedly the rear leaf springs. I have been under the truck many times and it seems to be two seaf springs rubbing together that is making the noise, spring pads are in place, makes no difference, can be real bad at times, and not bad at others, power washing helps for a day or so, wd40 or grease helps for a few days. I have had it to the dealer, they have re-torqued things and said the noise went away, it did not! and they also say its not warrantied anymore cause of the 3" spring blocks back there. But these have NO bearing on leaf springs making contact and terrible noise, the dang thing sounds 20 years old. So, I'd like to know who else has this problem? I know there are many (I'm hoping this becomes a documented issue and a service bulletin is released) And how many of you have had the problem fixed? Im at the point where I might take it back, might just try some more/different spring pads and cleaning/lube between leaf springs during next tire rotation ( I dont feel like I should have to do this on a new, warranteed truck but maybe it will be easier) Thanks!
  4. I put Bilstein 5100 on my GMC A/T all the way around and enjoyed a big improvement, just ordered the ones that fit the 2007-2013 models.
  5. BCridez and all: what are these leveling kits doing for your ride? on my 07 it is stiffer and rebound is not good, banging noise if the tire drops quickly into a hole or say rolling too quickly off the backside of a speed bump, I don't want this on my new truck. would a bracket style lift (6" from pro comp or fabtech) allow me to stay close to factory ride?? or can I save money and do fabtech 4" or rough country 3.5" lift??
