  1. When I ordered my 2014 they lost track of it for several weeks during shipping. The computer showed it was in Tacoma, WA waiting for shipment to Alaska, but they couldn't find it on the lot. After about 2 1/2 weeks they were about to write it off as "lost in shipment" when it was discovered sitting on their lot in Aberdeen, WA. No one was able to explain how it got there or how it had been checked in at Tacoma. It took about another week for them to get it on a truck for the 80 mile trip to Tacoma so it could finally get on the ship to Alaska.
  2. I really wish they didn't use the Blazer name on this new crossover. I have fond memories of my '81 K5 Blazer with a manual 3-speed and a granny gear. It was a great truck that was both tough and capable.
  3. I just finished my install. I purchased the Morimoto Elite HID Silverado kit with 5500K bulbs from Fast Headlights. It only took about 20 minutes to hook everything up for the initial test, then several hours routing wires and choosing where to mount items to make the install look clean. I mounted the passenger side ballast and relay under the plastic cover behind the top of the grill and in front of the radiator. The drivers side ballast was mounted to the metal pillar next to the bulb cover. The install looks really clean, but it will be a real pita when/if I need to replace a component.
  4. I haven't measured the old fashioned way yet. If the instrumentation is correct and 12.3MPG is my actual all time MPG, then the truck is getting crappy mileage. My 2007 would do better than that in 4WD after a snowstorm...
  5. Looks like I may have an issue... Mostly city, but some highway mixed in. I fill with 87 and have been easy on the throttle.
  6. $1600 installed. I'm in Alaska, so I'm sure a chunk of that was shipping.
  7. Just got my SnugLig SL installed. I had one on my 2007 that I loved and never had any problems with. They have made some enhancements on the new one for the 2014+ style. It now has a better quick release system to easily remove it while leaving the mounting hardware in place. It now also includes a built in 12v light. Great fit and finish that improves the overall look of the truck.
  8. Thanks! I have had it for 24 hours and am pretty stoked. Here are some interior pics:
  9. The tires are a dealer upgrade. They are Cooper Zeon LTZs. The dealer gave me a small credit for the stock tires. They look even better than I thought they would. I will report back with how they do this winter. http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Light-Truck/COOPER-ZEON-LTZ.aspx Unfortunately the King fishing on the Kenai has been very bad the last few years. So bad that this is now the second year in a row it has been closed due to low numbers. It is very sad how due to mismanagement people can screw up a good thing. http://www.alaskadispatch.com/article/20140522/todays-kenai-king-fishery-bears-no-resemblance-world-record-days The good news is that the reds are still strong. So far so good. I read up on many of the issues other members have had and so far none have been evident.
  10. After several shipping delays, yesterday I finally received my new 2014 Silverado LTZ Z71 Crew Cab.
