  1. I should correct my fat-fingering and give the true model name - Alpine iLX-107.
  2. Just as an update, I really like the Alpine ixl-701. I ordered the HU and all parts from crutchfield and had them build the harness connection between the truck and HU. It also included the Maestro. I'm not an expert at all on all this parts and what does what. But even so, with the help of their support, I was able to replace the HU and everything works great. I especially like the handsfree NAV. Since I use the iPhone, it hooks right up to the Apple Car Play and all is good. The total for all this was less than $900, which I thought was very reasonable. It may well be that the unit Carnau mentions is better and cheaper. I just decided to go with the Alpine.
  3. Oh yes, that's what the back of mine looks like. What does the back of the HU you mention look like. I couldn't find a photo of the back. It looked like it wouldn't fit because it says 8" deep, which I think is too deep.
  4. Thanks Carnau. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell that HU won't work with the vehicles with the Premuim NAV. The dash is built so that all connections to the HU must be on the bottom half on the HU and I think the depth of the HU is an issue (8"). If you have a non-Premium NAV HU, this may work. Right now, after more discussions with Crutchfield, it looks like the Alpine iXL-701 is one of the only ones that will work (I'm sure there are probably others, but can't find them). I'm going to try that one and see how it works.
  5. This may have been discussed already but I couldn't find it. I have a '13 Tahoe LTZ with the premium NAV system. I'd like to upgrade it to something with built in blue tooth. I picked up a Kenwood unit this past weekend and the "plug and play" harness was not correct. After more searching, it appears there's a "premium" NAV head unit and a regular one. Mine is the premium. I've tried communicating with Crutchfield, but I don't think they understand the issue. Does anyone know if this can be upgraded and any recommendations?
