Fixing the ground issue took care of the problem for me. I went ahead and went in for the recall anyway, fwiw. I posted a message to the NHTSA website months ago. It's amazing that they decided to initiate a recall that doesn't fix the ground issue too. This is an accident waiting to happen if the recall doesnt actually fix the problem.

2014 and up guys with funky electrical issues.
LS 1st Gen replied to sloz71's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!! There are several posts on this in the Recalls and Issues forum. Please spread the word over there as well. Ridiculous that this is such a small issue and so many systems are crippled by it, most due to CANBUS...... or more like CANBUSTED. -
Help! Stabilitrack/parking assist
LS 1st Gen replied to CaseysLTZ's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Add me to the list. Folks in this thread may have a fix: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/177978-steering-wheel-jammed-up-stabilitrak-errors/page-3 Loose / non contacting ground wire under the dash may be the culprit. GM needs to step in and do a recall already. Clearly if we are a representative sample, MOST 2014's will experience this issue eventually. -

Remote Start / Heated Seats Issues
LS 1st Gen replied to Tom's LTZ's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
The seat back warms to a temperature that I would consider "warm". On my usual drive to work I cant even tell if the seat bottom is warming. Maybe its designed to take about 45 minutes to warm up. -

Rear end clunking noise
LS 1st Gen replied to Nofastcar's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
I'm having the exact same problem. Most noticeable when applying gas after the truck has been coasting for a second. The "Clunk" or "Thud" is becoming more and more noticeable and feels like bad u-joints to me. A trip to the dealer is the last thing I have time for at the moment. -
2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers
LS 1st Gen replied to Green 1364's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I snagged the roll n lock on Amazon for $1048, which seems significantly cheaper than everywhere else. Honestly that's the main reason I went with it. I was torn between it and the retrax one, but at that price I figured the roll n lock would be worth it. The install went fairly smoothly. Getting the threaded bars which hold the 4 main brackets to the stake pockets in the corners was kind of pain, and honestly they seem like a subpar solution. Also it seems like the clamps holding the middle brackets are too long, maybe they are for the previous model. I ended up having to use washers to space them out. I can post pics of this sometime this week as I plan to take some to send to Roll N Lock to show them the problem. Other than that I think it looks pretty good: -
What have you done to your K2 today?

My Roll N Lock arrived from Amazon today. Looks great sitting in the box so far, lol! This definitely going to be a 2 person job. BTW, the part number is not yet listed on Roll-n-lock's website for the '14s. It's LG221M for the standard bed if anyone is curious. edit: Looks like they found their mistake, glad I got mine. Price is back up to normal. -
