  1. Odd issue here. Yesterday the front doors (both of them) no longer activate the interior lighting. The back doors do just fine. I have checked the dummy switch on the dash and if it is disabled the back doors do not turn on the interior lighting but when it is turned back on the back doors will again turn on the interior lights. I do not THINK that it is the door latches as the vehicle knows that the doors open, if you put it in drive and open the door the DIC tells you which door is open still AND when you turn the key off the radio plays until you open the drivers door so obviously something is still working. I have tried resetting everything by leaving the battery unhooked for a few hours thinking a BCM reset would fix it but that did not do the trick. Any ideas on what else to look at? Thanks in advance!
  2. I know its a long shot but has anyone had issues with the "stop" on their rear sliding window crack and break and had to replace it (not the window, just the stop as it screws on)? I have looked and looked for that part and not come up with anything. The rear window still slides back and forth BUT it now goes past close so I have to make sure its centered so its water tight. Its on a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT (not classic) Any help would be appreciated if a part or a place to get the part was located. Brad
  3. Coming from someone who has family that works for GM, they did it to keep the super tight tolerances that people expect in cars. Now why that carried over to trucks (utility vehicles) I will never know. And yes, I have bloodied a few knuckles changing bulbs in mine.
  4. If you mean if the selector is in 3rd then yes, it should. The only thing that I know of that is disabled (different from when it is in "D" but in 3rd gear) is AFM, that will not work if the selector is not in "D" Also it is possible that you have a different tranny than mine. I think that the trans makes less heat when the TC is locked so maybe if it is a 4l60e then they do it to cut down on heat?? Mine is a 4l70e. Just a guess on that one.
  5. Sorry for not getting to this question earlier. I would have to connect the scanner to your truck and find out if the torque converter clutch solenoid is activating in 3rd gear. You might be able to watch to see if there's an RPM drop at partial throttle, but that might be hard to detect. I tried to look it up on alldatapro and I'm not finding any good info. Just FYI, the TC does not lockup when in tow/haul mode. Here are charts from HPTuners showing engage/disengage speeds for the TC in both normal and performance (tow/haul) for my 4L70e.
