  1. Man just go ahead and order the struts and flip kit.... That way you can always go lower.... lol
  2. Lowering your truck is a disease. Once you do a 2/4... a 3/5 looks more attractive... then you need a 4/7. Next thing you know you need to bag it and lay the frame on the ground. I've had several friends go down this road. Couldn't have said it better.. I had no problems mechanically, I just really like the way it is now better then the 2/4 All in the way it looks.
  3. I am a Belltech fan, but I do have a McGaughys flip kit and assist bags on my 09 and they are fine. The only complaint I have is that the installation instructions are very vague. They maybe give you one pic, the rest are just instructions, they assume you know everything they are talking about, and everything they don't mention. Belltech gives you a step by step, tools needed, pics for each step, and even give the torque specs when you put everything back together. I have also seen a thread on a automotive forum where the owner/staff of McGaughys were airing out his/their dirty laundry and making threats because people were bringing to light some issues that customers were having. Not good for business IMO. I bought a complete kit from Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas.. I bought the McGaughey's kit that had the 2" drop spindles, 2" drop springs and 4-6 inch drop rear leaf springs. I also bought the McGaugheys Rear shocks. I installed everything and found that the Rear leafs did not fit correctly in the forward mounts on the truck.. I called McGaughey and was told to put some washers in between the forward mount and the leaf springs and Tighten it down, so I did. Well after about 5000 miles and about 6 months later I notice that the Rear springs were starting to bend where they mount to the axle and the front mount seems to be moving around a slightly. I call and talk to someone about my concerns and was told there is nothing they could do about it and I was pretty much on my own.. They would not sell me a flip kit to fix my problem. The rear shocks they sold me, the diameter of the sleeve at the mounting points did not fit the bolt properly and rattled, once again they would not do anything to correct the problem. The front 2" drop springs sagged so much on the right side that there was a 1" difference in the distance from the ground to the fender from the left side to the right side. Once again, I called them up and they would not do anything to help me rectify the problems from their inferior parts they sold me. I removed everything but the spindles and replaced everything with Belltech products and have had no problems what so ever. I have 55,000 miles on my truck and it rides perfectly. I originally lowered it at 2,500 miles. I would never buy another thing from McGaughey's. Not only is their parts crap there Customer service is terrible. I am a 37 year old Aircraft Mechanic, I am not some young punk. You can take what I just said for what it's worth.. I am not typing this to Bash McGaughey, I am typing this to keep someone else from spending their hard earned money on CRAP!
  4. lol.... No problem.. Thanks for the compliments.
  5. Just make sure they give you enough clearance between the axle and the bed because your axle is going to be 6 inches closer to the bed. Also keep in mind that if you have Active Fuel Management. You can't run true dual exhaust. You can run a muffler that has dual in and dual out. Other wise it will sound like crap!
  6. I wouldn't use anything from McGoofy even if you gave it to me. As for the exhaust question if your going to dump it befor the axle you can do the exhaust first. If your going to run it out the back, it will have to go over the axle. I would lower it first.
  7. Good Deal Dave, glad I could help you out! Thanks for your Service to Our Country!
  8. Yeah you should be fine without the leveling bags.
  9. I haul 4 ATV's on a 16' flatbed all the time. I just put about 50 lbs of air in the leveling bags and i'm good to go. Thanks for the info on the front end. I really like how it looks. I really like the color of your truck too!
  10. I tried to tell you not to use MCGoofy Jim I know you did JB, I guess some people have to learn the hard way! How you been? I see you lifted your truck. I thought you were joking when you said you were going to. lol
  11. Where did you get that front lower valence for your truck? As far as a 2/3 or 2/4 drop, I wouldn't do it. As a matter of fact, I did do it the first time, and here are some pictures. I also did a 3/5 I didn't like that either. I like the 3/6 the best. 5 years from now when I Bag it...
  12. That looks Really nice. Glad I could help you out. Do you have any rubbing issues being that low with the stock tires?
  13. That's why I am at 3" in front rather then 4, and I hated my low profile tires... The alignment wasn't that big of a deal, I just wished Beltech and their dealers would be straight up about needing the camber kit. Its a give and take situation when it comes to larger diameter wheels. The ride becomes more harsh the larger the wheel you go. I don't mind low profile tires (drove my 03 on 265/35/22s from coast to coast), but it can get old at times. For those who want to improve the ride quality I would highly suggest assist bags. My truck rides worlds better when I run 20-30 PSI in the rear. Yeah you are right, I have had my truck at the 4/7 at first and couldn't get the camber set right, I feel your pain. The Spindles should come with the camber kit already, that would help a whole bunch... My Truck rides the best with my Quad in the back and 30-40 psi in the bags....
  14. That's why I am at 3" in front rather then 4, and I hated my low profile tires...
  15. Great Info.... That's a Nice looking Truck! McGaughey sucks... I have a whole kit minus the spindles laying in my garage that was installed on my truck the first time around. I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy.
