  1. I still have my 2003 Silverado with a 5.3, It has gone through a few transformations, some upgrades not listed in my outdated sig, but the Change oil dummy light almost always comes up prior to me changing it. The truck still uses no oil between oil changes at 145k, I use Mobil 1 5w-30 full syn each oil change and change it every 5000 miles, but the dummy light in my older truck that either uses miles or hours as an indicator goes off about 500-1000 miles earlier than I plan on changing it. But, key to start and 3 floored gas pedals remedy's it for me.
  2. I bought into the single stack 9mm concept once the Shield came out, been carrying a S&W Shield in 9mm since, its the one when I picked it up I was like, yea this fits good King Tuck Galco IWB holster. I am contemplating one of the following for pocket carry - Keltec P3AT, Kahr CW380, Ruger LCP.
  3. My favorite carry knife was the black CRKT pictured, pocket clip snagged on a purse or something at the county fair this summer and yoink.. good luck finding it in a crowd with a band playing on a dirt track. -Replacement - SOG Flash II.
  4. Nice Rifles, especially like the DMR/SPR's. Post back and let us know how you like the 1-6 vortex. I've been looking at a cheaper version, IE Leupold Mark AR or Bushnell in there 1.25-4's for my 14.5inch gun, would be nice for a setup with less magnification.
  5. PSA rifles are very good basic AR's, a stripped lower and then there complete gun build kit would work to.. takes about 2 hours total for a first timer to assemble a AR-15. All you need is the upper reciever vice block to install the barrel, a pair of lock jaw pliers, some patients, lube for the barrel nut, and a armor's tool.
  6. I'll play a little. This one won Field and Streams 2/28/2014 Friday gun fight names Febu-AR-y Madness. Changes: -Leupold 3x9x40 AR optic in a Nikon M-223 mount -Troy Alpha Rail 9" -Ground off and blued- 3x sling swivels and bayonet lug This one I built at home with my nephew. - Delton Upper and Lower stripped - BCM 14.5 LW Mid length barrel and gas tube - BCM MPI/HP bolt/ carrier group - Gissele G2S trigger - Magpul ACS-L stock and grip/ trigger guard - Fortis Rev 12" keymod rail - Daniel Defense front/ rear sights - BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 charging handle - Fortis QD endplate - BCM Comp Mod 1 - MS4 sling QD (not shown) - Magpul Vert grip (not shown) Rifle as shown - 6lbs, 1 ounce. Fun as hell and dead accurate as far as I can see the target lol Wish list- build a SBR with a suppressor.
  7. So an update, I Finally finished my rifle I was building.. Heres my first one with my LBK Here is my second I just completed last week. Pic of nephew throwing some rounds down range. Rifle Specs: Del-Ton Upper/ Lower Recievers BCM 14.5" Mid-length light weight 1/7 twist barrel BCM Comp Mod 1 BCM low pro gas block/ tube BCM Mod 4 charging handle PSA Lower Build Kit Magpul ACS-L Stock / Magpul MOE grip/ Magpul Trigger guard Geissele G2S 2 stage trigger Daniel Defense Fixed Iron sights 6.27 pounds without a magazine 7.30 pounds with 30 round mag loaded with 55gr fmj's
  8. Not soap residue or anything?? If not, wow. nice product to fix it, but shouldn't need fixing that fast lol
  9. Nice aggressive look, lots of black with a lil chrome left, very sharp!
  10. I agree with Sputnik, for the most part. If you have a free float rail or are planning on a free float rail. I'd just use flip up's for the longer site radius, If you currently have a gas block with a rail, and non floated hand guards its upto you.
  11. See around where I live it would be the same way with 4.8's, 5.3 is by far the most popular. So issues I've seen with with vortecs and 5.3's in general, a little oil burn on the occasional AFM model- usually not enough to require adding between oil changes. And with Vortec's in general- Intake gaskets.. god damn intakes.. replaced mine at 107k, mines a gen3, but it's been flawless and a workhorse other then the intake gasket. There easy to make decent power with, and well.. its a SBC.. parts are in abundance for sure, and cheap.
  12. Very nice Scar Jenna, When did you guys move to CA? I thought you were in WV or something
  13. Yea, not as far, I was really surprised how far it stuck out of the rifle, surprisingly though, no more then the forward assist on the other side, obviously different geometry so it doesnt catch but it was interesting.
