  1. There is a TSB on this issue. Had mine looked at 7 times. #08-08-42-003A: Stop Lamps Intermittently Turn Off After Coming to a Complete Stop While Still Having Pressure on Brake Pedal (Replace Stop Lamp Switch) - (Aug 14, 2009) Subject: Stop Lamps Intermittently Turn Off After Coming to a Complete Stop While Still Having Pressure on Brake Pedal (Replace Stop Lamp Switch) Models: 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe 2007-2008 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali XL This bulletin is being revised to provide a new part number. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-08-42-003 (Section 08 - Body & Accessories). Condition: Some customers may comment on the stop lamps turning off prior to the brake pedal reaching the fully released position. Some customers may also comment on the stop lamps turning off while having light pressure on the brake pedal. Some customers with Integrated Trailer Brake Control (ITBC) may comment that the electronic trailer brakes disengage after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. This disengaging of the trailer brakes coincides with the stop lamps turning off. Cause: This condition may be caused by not enough pressure being applied to the stop lamp switch to keep the brake lights on. Correction: Technicians are to replace the stop lamp switch. The new stop lamp switch has a reduced internal spring apply force, which will allow the lamps to stay on with less applied brake force. •Refer to SI for Stop Lamp Switch replacement procedures. •Use the new Stop Lamp Switch, P/N 25981009. Parts Information: Part Number - 25981009 Description - Switch,Stop Lamp Qty - 1 3 brake switches (old and new style) 2 taillight assemblies 2 BCM's Finally found the issue at the BCM but was all under warranty so no worries on me. If you have your OnStar active they will give you the active code next time it happens and you can take that to your dealer. That is how I eventually found my problem.
  2. Yes Sir.......Gotta pay if you want to play!
  3. I miss Carolina already. The 4L60 can handle the power if built correctly, and yes you can get a computer from the yard but must be VIN coded with Tech2 and programmed, but now you are talking $$$$$ of additional money than just a simple swap of an engine. This is NOT as easy as it seams gents. This is why you pay extra for Justin to re flash a computer from another truck and it must be in the correct VIN range. Trade the truck for a factory equiped 6.0 or 6.2 and youll be much happier with a drive train that was meant to handle it. You could always go the forced air route but still that is mucho $$ and tranny upgrades also.
  4. It should set DTC/Check engine lights and the great state of California would love to see that during a smog check!
  5. So you are saying no re-programing is required? Like to see that one, much more time and $$$ is involved than an easy swap would indicate.
  6. My combined weight (fully loaded and ready to camp, plus family on board) is a right at 13k lbs (scale weighed on an actual trip @ 12,880 lbs). I was surprised to see similar numbers on what appears to be a much smaller camper. Our camper is full aluminum framed, but it's not really an "ultralight", as it has conventional Al studs/joists, 5/8 plywood floors, 3/8 ply roof, etc. I had all three wet tanks full (120 Gallons x8 lbs) three ATV's, one dirt Bike, one Street Bike, food, dishes, and enough clothes to last two weeks for a family of four, and the bed of the truck was lined with foot lockers that were packed with gear. It is a 23 Ft (Box length) all aluminum structure toy hauler (which wieght more than standard travel type trailers) It is 26 ft tounge to bumper. The trailer weights just over 4 grand and the truck wieghts almost 5 grand so if you do the math the trailer and truck really only had about 3000 pounds of gear in it. I will post picks of the wieght tickets....... It was a fun drive from NC to CA.....3128 miles.
  7. Headed to the wieght station at 12860 lbs combined wieght.
  8. Havelock for one more week then off to Sacramento CA.
