  1. That buys an awful lot of lightbulbs. And yet I still want these for some reason..
  2. Yea, car-part.com will be useful too, but I think the trucks are still too new, and LTZs less common than LTs.. they'll still keep a hefty price for mint condition ones. I've been looking at the aftermarket ones. They're not exact clones, and they're not going to be oem quality, so I've avoided it, since I don't want my shiny newish truck rearended.
  3. Last I heard these factory LED tails were SUPER expensive. Has anyone found a cheaper way to get them? I mean they were like $600 EA or something.
  4. I had a weird issue the other day. I kept getting a "check gas cap" warning. After a few days of ignoring it (I just knew I had put my gas cap on properly) it threw a tantrum and tripped a CEL. I pulled over and opened the fuel door and the cap fell out! Since resealing it and checking that its firmly attached every time I fill up I haven;'t noticed the rough idle. Seems unlikely to be related.. but..?? My truck has 7000 miles on it now. It seems to do this far less often than it used to.
  5. The taillights new are like $600 each, headlights for an LTZ about $800 each, for an LT about $600 each. Bumper $440, grill $600, lower valence with chrome insert adds up to about $450. You saved a boatload if you did this with used parts. I just wanted to do a simple LTZ swap on my truck and I was looking at over $1200 (excluding headlights).. I gave up. Nice work! Now you STILL have a nicer truck than mine will ever be.
  6. Personally I really dislike the front end of my truck. The LTZ looks fine, and the Z71 paint color looks awesome, but LT 2wd front ends? Yuck. It's far too expensive to fix though, and I couldn't afford the extra $6k or whatever to get a z71 new.. so.. I've just been trying to get used to it. It's not in my avatar pic but I've added chrome wheel skins to my 18" split spokes, stainless factory running boards, window trim, door handles mirror caps and door trim. It looks much better..
  7. if you have 18" split spokes you can get matte and gloss black wheel skins and give it a shot. I've considered it but.. I'm not going to do anything I dont think.
  8. So, I was reading last night that in 2017 this color is no longer available. So its a 2016 only color? I wonder why? I've never seen GM only run a color for a single year before.
  9. I dont understand why. I love the way it sparkles in sunlight. My 2nd choice was crimson red metallic. in 20 years our kids might call it "that sparkly poop brown truck you used to have" though..
  10. My issue was drivability. The diff made an awful noise. They couldn't fix it after 2 majorly invasive repair attempts.
  11. taillights are a no go as I understand it. Differnt connector and resistance. Someone should make an adapter soon though.......... its just a matter of whther you wanna pay that much for such a little thing. headlights.. idk, I'm interested, LED headlights and switch back LED turn signals seems like fun, but.. Imean the lighs are like $1200+ and they PROBABLY wont work. LTZ trucks have a fan that runs after shutdown to cool those leds I think? chances are even if they "work" they may burn out sooner on an LT because that fan doesn't know to run.
  12. I had 2000 miles on my 15. Funny too, cos I only drove it for like 2 weeks. I've had my 16 for about a week now and I've put 1000 on it tho. I keep my tires warm I guess. I put 3k on their loaner. The dealer has been great about all of this, once we got "Stuck" on the repair they wasted no time on proceeding with the repurchase. I think a replacement diff would have fixed it, but they wouldn't authorize that repair for some reason. Kept wanting to rebuild.
  13. The repurchase is basically a fancy trade-in. But its fancy in all the right ways. My swap didn't cost me a penny, I picked one out, waited about 3 weeks , they covered tax tag title collateral swap paperwork etc. I dropped off the loaner I'd been in for 2 months, and picked up my truck. That being said........ I dont have my 2016's registration yet.... and I'm not sure why. I am going to call the tag people tomorrow to find out.
  14. It's based on MSRP. I got a good bit off on my 15, and then when they had no more 15s, applied that discount basically to my 16, even tho it was not on sale to that level. In that way, this can be a "made out like a bandit" moment, I suppose.
  15. Are you replacing or refunding? If you are replacing, they will "buy back" the vehicle by basically swapping collateral at your bank (if applicable) OR you will have to refinance the new vehicle, like a glorified trade in. If the new vehicle has one PENNY of price difference they will ask you to pay it,but if you push back they may waive this. TTT are covered in a replacement. In a refund (I did a replacement, not a refund.. cos I had negative equity.. otherwise I would have taken my business elsewhere) they buy out the original loan amount minus any trade value. So if you bought your truck for $32k and had $8k negative on your trade, you're left holding $8k. They also deduct dollar value based on mileage driven on the repurchased vehicle. I dont know the details of that dollar value or how its calculated however.
