  1. Well, it's a known problem, the other mechanic I called replaced 4 and he just works up in the garage behind his house between odd jobs. GM refused to recall it or acknowlodge the problem, but they are selling the for 300$ (cost) instead of the 1000$ they were charging before. In addition to that, in the case of mine, it looks like the fuse cover may have not been shut properly at some point (bought used) judging by how dirty it was under neat there. Looking at the cover itself (no pics), the rubber gasket had a bump in one spot, so maybe it didn't seal properly. I'm going to put silicone o-ring lube on the new gasket to make sure it remains flexible and seals properly.
  2. So, get up one day after a snow storm to move my truck, battery dead on my 2015 Sierra Base. Original battery, didn't think much of it, boosted it, went and bought a new battery. Next day, new battery is dead again. Brought it to my local mechanic to troubleshoot the draw. He was noticing a 0.5V drop in 9 hours one day, then dead the following day. Charged again, looked at it at night, the heater controls were lit up, another time the instrument cluster warning lights all lit up. He also saw the dome light turn on by themselves. Prior to that, I had other intermittent issues: - unlock the door with the key, pushed the unlock button on the door, it would not unlock the others, start the engine, then I can unlock with the door button - parking brake light on the dash doesn't come on parking brake applied - would crank for 10 to 15 seconds on cold mornings before starting Spoke to another mechanic I know, he said the fuse box was the issue, he replaced 4 in the last couple of years. I got it replaced by my mechanic and brought the truck home. I opened up the old box to see what was going on inside, it was a real mess, all corroded to ******, so pretty confident that was the issue. It's so prevalent that the local dealer keeps them in stock.
  3. Found out the Pioneer Nex I'm getting doesn't support a USB hub, so option B it is. I'll keep the existing USB hub in place for charging only and the new one for connecting the phone to the radio. Thanks.
  4. Waiting for my aftermarket radio to arrive and planning some things. The wiring kits on Crutchfield say they don't support the USB port. The head unit I am getting has a USB port on the back. My preferred method would be to identify where the USB cable from the console arrives behind the dash, splice it and plug it in the back of the head unit. Has anyone been able to identify which cable is the USB behind the stereo? If not, I guess plan B is to run a long USB extension from the back of the radio to the console, and splice it there. Ditto for the AUX, although with CarPlay, I don't really need the AUX.
  5. Removing the fuse didn’t cure anything, it just made the symptoms go away until the problem reoccurs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If you don't mind chinese knock-offs that take a couple of months to get here, there are these: 2000 lumens: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2PCS-lights-maker-3inch-20W-LED-Work-Light-Offroad-SUV-ATV-4WD-4X4-Driving-Fog-Lamp/32833344971.html?traffic_analysisId=recommend_2088_2_90158_iswistore&scm=1007.13339.90158.0&pvid=262101a7-74d5-4658-834d-5738f2fde77a&tpp=1 Or dimmer at 600 lumens: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Aubeam-2-75-9W-Mini-Pod-LED-Rock-Light-Puddle-Light-Reverse-Light-Mini-Pod-LED/32667661319.html?traffic_analysisId=recommend_3035_null_null_null&scm=1007.13338.98539.000000000000000&pvid=f1af2d7c-f314-4d26-a234-f5e753d41a4d&tpp=1
  7. I have a 2015 Sierra base model with power door locks, but no remote. I read in this post that I can get a remote and have the dealer program it. My question, will remotes from the GMT-900 work with the K2XX?
  8. A year later, are you still happy with them? I have been on BFG AT KO from 2004 to 2012, and GY Duratracs till now. But AMPs are much cheaper to buy, so seriously considering them. They also have the Terrain Pro which is a few bucks cheaper than the Terrain Gripper and looks like a copy of the BFG AT.
  9. Another cool way to wire it would be to turn on with reverse or with the cargo light Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
  10. I only towed it once and it was from next to the garage to the back of the property for the winter, so that's the only picture I have for now. There is two feet of snow now around the trailer. Can't wait for May to arrive to start camping again.
