  1. It's not like the C7 Vettes for the most part even sound good... I don't know how or what they do to screw up that engines exhaust note but GM has it down pat for sure. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  2. Because that junk will just keep melting. You really need to shop some yards... E fan harness isn't even part of the engine harness anyway. That and it's not that expensive new from GM.. It's the forward lighting harness. But you are right it's cheaper to patch that... Until you come out one day to an underhood fire. I have seen two of those scab aftermarket ones light up.. In real life.. Not pictures off the internet. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  3. Oem harness fixes all those problems lol Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  4. As a gen 3 the truck engines never did. Yes you have a gen 3 and it's an LQ4 if it's from an HD. Go measure the throttle body if you don't believe us lol. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  5. http://www.lsenginediy.com/gm-gen-iii-ls-pcmecm-electronic-throttle-equipment-guide/ Not everything is just swapping wires and backwards compatibility. An LS2 dbw can be swapped to an older os... but the trucks always come up as nothing. I know it mentions full swap capability from 03 to 07 but I have run into issues with the 06 and 07 pcm not working properly with the 03 to 05 tac. A chunk of cable solves all this lol. And no normal gen 3 engine had a 90 mm throttle body so what do you actually have? I know the SSR LS2 had a gen 3 truck looking intake with an 87 mm throttle body but i have no idea what throttle body, tac and pcm that is. The gen iv 6 liters have 87 mm.. and of course certain car engines have 90 mm or larger..... LQ4 and LQ9 engines use the same 78 mm throttle body whether cable or dbw as any 4.8 or 5.3. 6. No... For all intents you can't. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  7. ATAK.... still mellow when you want it.... quiet in the truck..... but sounds amazing and is not particularily quiet when you romp on it. It made the MBRP I had on my 6.2 sound like complete and utter garbage....
  8. Just use the 5.3s intake with the cable operated throttle. An 02 5.3 has the same injectors a 6 liter (LQ4 or LQ9) would so beyond tuning it's plug and play. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  9. 60e works just fine with a 6.2... The TCM and ecm could not care less about what they are controlling combination wise and as long as its tuned it's fine. Gen 4s biggest hurtle is the 58 tooth crank reluctor wheel.. As a gen 3 uses 24 teeth. You can get a converter box from lingenfelter and then just extend your knock sensor harness as well as the Cam sensor harness. More work than most can handle though haha. 10. Of the stick.... maybe $20. Probably a lot cheaper if you are in the States.
  11. GM sells one and it matches. Get used to chips... Mine hit point break and I repainted the drivers box side lol Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  12. True but at that point a good chunk of the original buyers quit caring... Because it's traded hands 3 times, warranty is long gone and it's life. If you want a 100000 mile plus vehicle that's on you and buyer beware I guess. Some guys buy them and drive them for decades.. Yes I know as on one truck I am doing that ( not this 2015 though in my case) ... But just as many or more do not drive beyond the warranty period. It will be a roll of the dice... Just like buying an afm equipped one since 07 is and hoping the rings aren't coked in the afm cylinders. But really... An intake service at 115000 miles isn't anything insane in ownership either. 13. It's dirt lol... I didn't pull this intake to show you people my valves specifically.... No one here is that special haha... But the opportunity arose so why not when I'm there. I pulled it to wash it out from a significant intake leak that filled it with dust... Including of course the cylinder head ports. It's what happens when somehow the stock airbox dents in around the tube clamp. None the less yes the valves were clean and the buildup was so minimal it's nonexistent. The discoloration of the valve is nothing more than that... Discoloration. It wasn't white either... That's the camera flash causing that color you see. It's nothing like some of the messes people post on here. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  14. Good for them haha. Point is that at the mileage the op is being fleeced at for a service if it was my truck... Well it's a waste of money. I broke mine in hard and subsequently hand in hand with good ring seal I don't have an oil slobbering disaster. Does the op? Pull the manifold and take a peek or fish a camera down the throttle body. He could do the old sea foam method if he is concerned... Which is in a likelihood all the dealer would do anyway. We are on our third run of these direct injected things at work since debut and they get about 80000 to 90000 miles in a year on a fleet of about 20 trucks I get to interact with. Not one yet has had a cleaning of any form and all run OK... Plus idle for hours on end. Is some performance over day one lost... Probably... Is it enough to warrant walnut blasting every 25000 miles or even ever... Probably not. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
  15. That's about 24000 miles on my 6.2... The intake valves look just fine. Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk
