  1. Hey group - had the upgrade / update done to my truck today and will report on it in the next couple of days. Head mechanic here said he was able to already see a drastic improvement, here's hoping.
  2. So.... got my truck back from the dealer and I currently have the same bulbs. Apparently some old bulbs have made it into the new bulb packages and this is what my dealership has. So on that note the bulbs did not go in, thanks to the quick service manager and service tech. A new set of Vosla bulbs are on their way from Germany with a eta of 10 days.
  3. Alright so truck on the shop took photo of part but too big to post. GMC part# 23342527 ACDELCO part # 23342527 UPC code (scannable bar code) 808709357650. Please keep in mind these are GM Canada part numbers. Will report on the update when I get truck back. Attached is a photo of the box (uploaded from home)
  4. Truck is going in this morning for the "update" (new bulbs and the bcm flash) I expect this will not go smoothly, but here's hoping as it sounds like GM Canada, service manager, service tech are all on board. I will get part numbers for everyone this morning.
  5. I didn't get quote a price on the bulbs, $65 cdn for the flash. I was actually trying to get ahold of my "customer ambassador" when the parts guy was showing me the lights. I was phoning to get GM's approval for the update however I was told that as my assigned person was off already, the lady I was speaking to did not want to approve it. I was told that there would be a collaborative meeting between GMC, the service manager, and my service rep to attempt to rectify my concerns. I attempted to pass my phone to my service rep at the dealer, but the GMC rep told me not do that as she would not talk to them. I have played this "game" with GM Canada before as I had numerous problems with a 2003 S-10 crew-cab. I ended up filing a arbitration suit against GM, represented myself during the hearing but still won. I will continue to poke around some web-sites to see if I can get a part # / price for everyone. Just a word of caution, I have found that USA and Canadian part numbers can differ sometimes. No idea why but its happened.
  6. So here is the latest on my side. My dealership has the bulbs in, and I physically saw them, they are the Vosla's, which I make reference to in post #24. The BCM flash is required with these bulbs. I went to get them installed today, and was told that I would have to pay for the update and the bulbs out of pocket. I apologize but I didn't get the part number today. Needless to say, I did not have the update completed at this time, as I have a open file with GM Canada, and my "service ambassador" will be in contact with the Service Manager. I will keep the group updated as the claim progresses.
  7. Happy to hear that GM is finally listening to us! I have been in contact with a GM Canada rep in Ontario since my initial customer survey was submitted, and my only complaints were the lights and the paint. I offered my truck to test any new lights, and from the looks of the forum, I may be one of the first in Canada, so we will see. I was in contact with my dealer today, and was advised that the bulbs will be in Friday, so I won't have any report until next week at least. If GTD is happy then I am guessing I will be as well - guess the morimoto kit will be going back. Will keep the group updated as and when the bulbs are installed and the BCM is updated.
  8. I would start a complaint trail with the dealership now, so when the part numbers become available, you are able to provide the dealership a solution to your issue. Having a history of complaining about the poor quality, should bode well for getting the new bulbs and bcm flash under warranty. Once I get mine done this week, I will chat up my service manager to see what the "buzz words" to have this covered are.
  9. Specs on the new bulbs (as per the site ) I found as as follows: Luminous Flux (lm) (at 13,2V) 1875 lm ± 15 % (at 12,8V) 1700 lm ± 15 % My guess, and I do not proclaim to be a math wiz or electrical engineer, is that the BMC flash will up the voltage to the new light, producing the target lm of 1700 on low beam and with target lm of 1875 lm at the high beam. With the +/- 15%, the potential output on low beam is over 1900 lms, and with the potential lm output of 2156 lm on high beam this may help solve issues. I do not know what the currently lm output of the lights we have, but I can't see GMC blowing this "fix" by replacing a horrible bulb with something along the same output. My two cents
  10. Not a whole lot of information on the bulb, but here is what I have found: http://www.vosla-german-lighting.com/upload/products/pdf/de/28432.pdf
  11. I know there are tons of threads on this topic already. I complained much like everyone else to GM Canada. Apparently GMC released a new OEM light or bulb for the GMC sierra with projectors this week. My dealer has ordered a set for me and another guy. I will keep everyone posted with updates, part numbers etc. Here's hoping it will work, as I just ordered a Morimoto HID retrofit kit.
