  1. My neighbor had the exact same thing happen to him and there was lot of paint. He used a heat gun and it came right off.
  2. Keyless entry as in pressing the key fob to unlock the doors? I did it myself on my 2010; a Youtube video walked me through the process. I lost a key and bought a new one from https://www.carandtruckremotes.com; they have videos there.
  3. Did you check the voltage of the battery? Optima has a great reputation but possibly the new battery is weak?
  4. My '05 Suburban LT does not have it, my '08 Cadillac CTS has it, and my GMC 2500 HD Duramax does not have it. I've often wondered how the engineers across the different divisions of GM make their decisions about these kinds of amenities.
  5. Empty, I run low 60's front and rear. I've experimented a lot with different pressure from as low as 55 in the front to up to 70 in the rear and there seems to be pretty good wear as long as I stay in the mid-60's. Towing, I'll up the rear to 70, which is close to recommended pressure of 72 for my year.
  6. Wheel bearings? That comes to my mind because I just had to change both sets of bearings on my truck.
  7. 2010 GMC 2500HD - 26 gallons. I swapped it out for an aftermarket tank that holds 45 gallons.
  8. I installed Bilstein 5100's a few years ago and it made a huge difference in ride control. I highly recommend something different than the stock shocks, which were very underdamped.
  9. Regular fuel filter change is called for on my 2010; I imagine it's the same for yours. My DIC lets me know when it's needed.
  10. Short answer is yes, your vehicle can tow this. Warning: This is what I would do in your situation so this is not necessarily the perfectly "right" thing to do.. (Retired big rig driver here and I have a box 6 x 12 box trailer as well as a 22' boat that I tow.) I would use a weight distributing hitch to take some load off of the rear axle of the truck and I would load some weight (up to 500 lbs. maybe?) in the trailer behind the trailer axles. That would lessen the weight on the hitch while still being under the maximum tow rating. Then I would tow it with no worries. Now, if you happen to notice that there's sway in the trailer (that uneasy feeling like the trailer is trying to steer the rear of your tow vehicle), then I would lessen the weight I added in the trailer behind the axles.
  11. Check the simplest thing first; the bulbs.
  12. Glad you got it fixed. I carry around a couple bulbs with me because the last time I had a bulb burn out, I was on a 1,800 mile road trip; didn't want to get a fix-it ticket while I was out of state.
  13. I've always followed the rule of checking the simplest thing first, which would be the bulbs. Yes, highly unlikely that both would fail at the same time, but certainly possible. When was the last time you actually checked that both worked? It's possible that one burned out and you hadn't noticed; happens to me more often than not.
  14. I've got the same year Suburban; yeah, those button lights on the steering wheel started burning out pretty quick. I don't think any of mine work anymore. And I think at least one of the indicator lights on the dash (recirculate button?) is burned out. Years ago, someone posted on here that they repaired the lights on the steering wheel; it involved disassembly and soldering which was more than what I wanted to do.
  15. Just curious if you have kept up on lubing the the front end. I had, to my shame and regret, neglected on keeping up on the lube schedule. When I started lubing it, the sound went away and hasn't returned.
