Thanks. I looked at swapping all of the various trim pieces and the cost was astronomical. Best estimate from the body shop I trust was over $6500 parts and labor. I can't imagine the cost of the lift kit installed will be more than half that.
I know. I know. My 81 year old father in law wants to order a new AT4 because of the way it looks but has a hard time climbing in and out. The truck will be on the highway 99.999% of the time and if it ever is off the pavement, it will be a gravel road. I tried to talk him into the Denali but he hates the chrome and the cost of the AT4 parts to make the swap are stupid expensive. Does anyone know how GM achieves the 2" lift and can it be reversed?
Did anyone figure out if the 36 gallon tank from the 2500 standard box would fit the 1500? Even the 28 gallon from the long bed would be a big improvement. Just ordered an AT4 and don't think I can make it to the hunting grounds and back on one tank.
I've heard from the aftermarket guys that they cannot modify the gas tank because it is a controlled part of the emissions system. That being said, has anyone thought about swapping the 36 gallon tank from the 2500 into a 1500? I'm sure there are a lot of differences underneath the two model trucks but the bigger tank is offered with the same standard size bed.
