The rv forums need to be taken worth a grain of salt. Those guys think you shouldn't tow basically anything unless you have a diesel Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk -

I hate being the weight police all the time....but if you have the stock hitch, you are way over the rating for tongue weight without weight distribution hitch. I don't have mine handy but I believe it's only like 800lbs. Jayco lists dry tongue of 950ishlbs for a 32bhds I don't doubt it tows fine but you are asking a lot of that hitch and where it is mounted. Plus without weight being put back to the front tires with weight dist. Setup, under hard braking the tongue will push down the rear axle more and reduce if not eliminate the ability to steer properly. Fwiw. I've towed a very similar trailer for a friend and can attest that it's f'n heavy but tows nice due to the length...that was with WD Hitch and air bags in my 2014 1500. Hit send instead of enter.... 5100s are not designed to be used with any lift blocks. If you keep lowering the ring, just ditch the block and use them as designed. Worth a try Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk -

Try ditching the bottom block! Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk -
No worries! My measurements were about the same as you before I put the 33's on. I was surprised at how much the topper dropped the rear end. I like the current stance, but want a tad more height to be on the safe side for the front end tire clearance. Im not sure what setting yet, but probably the third setting for the 5100s. I currently have no rubbing issues, but even with the 1.25" level, I think its going to be too high in the rear. Might add air bags as I tow alot, or just do the rear block like I did my last truck and dial in my hitch a little better. Add-a-leaf is also an option, just dont want too much rear lift. I like the ride with the tires. Steering too me feels slightly different, but in a good way. Truck responds better in my opinion. MPG definitely went down. Still hard to really say exactly as Ive only had them on for about 1500km during the winter. Id guess maybe 13.5 or 14 MPG city. Only one short highway trip and it was about 19MPG. Prior was about 15 City and maybe 20/21 highway. So not horrible now that I look at it. Hope that helps.

Exactly. I haven't figured out the purpose of it either. Other than maybe saving a couple steps of one shift then a bunch of taps vs dropping shifter all the way down in a hurry maybe. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

I read somewhere, I cant recall where, that if youre driving along and need to get max transmission grade braking you can just drop in straight into the 1 and it will max out the downshifts. I've tried it on a few GM/Chev trucks from work with the 6.0 and thats exactly what it does.

I have the 5100's sitting in the garage, but cannot decide on what to do. Im thinking I might go with the air bags in the rear eventually as well. I also dont even need the extra lift in the front with my 275/70 K02s, thought I would which is why I bought the 5100s. Totally cannot make a decision -
My 275/70/18 KO2s fit totally stock. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk
