I have a 2020 duramax and want to add running boards to it. Does anyone know of there are any differences between the diesel and gas trucks? All my research points towards no, but wanted to see if anyone had any other insight.

I hope for you CaptGary. It was pretty hard to walk away from GM. But I used it as a DD and the shutter bothered me like crazy. My wife was pretty upset about the situation so she supported me 100%. She loves the frontier...especially being smaller (has more room for my son in the back though). My brother has a 2014 crew cab 4x4 V8 and his is super smooth in the transition. Obviously mine came out of factory specs, they just weren't willing to fix it for me. Poor customer service if you ask me!

Well I had forgotten about updating this post. I took it in 3 times. On the 3rd time GM got involved. I believe the dealership was told to do 3 maybe 4 things. After all was done it still had the vibration/shutter. GM told the dealership to drive one like mine. Service manager said it had some but it was extremely minimal compared to mine. GM said it was the nature of the beast and it was normal. Dealership said all the right things but I didn't get the good freling that things were going to work out. The next day I went out and bought a Nissan Frontier. Hopefully you all get treated better than I. Very frustrating to say the least!

Good luck with them helping out. I contacted them on Friday evening, acted like they couldn't care less. Said I would get a call on Monday or Tuesday morning at the latest. Been over 2 weeks since I have called and still no word. Great customer service (insert extreme sarcasm)!

Mine developed a vibration and it consistently got worse. GM said it was the nature of the beast (being a v6). Service manager was pissed because he knew how bad mine was. He wouldn't program the AFM out though. I now own a nissan. If GM won't stand behind their product, I won't stand behind them. Sad too, because it was an awesome truck otherwise...

I know my truck 4x4 double cab 3:42's had no problem pulling what I put behind it. I was able to maintain 67 mph going up mountains right at 3800 rpm. I could've gained speed if I wanted to. Truthfully I would have zero problems pulling 6000 pounds. I would take it slower so I could stop easier. This new 4.3, while not a V8, is a very solid performer. You will be just fine with that weight!

16000 miles on mine. Have towed between 3000-3500 and it did it very well. Worst tank of gas has been 15.3 (towing in western Maryland mountains) and my best has been 22 (running 75 going to Disney). For everyday driving not much difference between it and my brothers 14 CC 5.3. When he steps on his thats the difference. Not enough for me to worry about though...

Well my truck started to get a bad vibration when switching from V4 to V6. Took it to the dealership and the service manager had no idea the 4.3 had AFM (that was a little unnerving). Regardless he took it and said he would try to pin point the problem. Got it back late last night and he said they added a new clamp on the exhaust and something with the body cab mount bolts. Hopefully this will take care of my problem. Best thing is he said him and the general manager took it for a ride and both felt exactly what I was talking about. I will give an update as to if this issue is resolved with these solutions. Disclaimer- This is meant to be a helpful post not a whining one.

Those azteks are know for bumpers just falling off. Yet another recall that we will be seeing from GM here shortly...LOL

Just filled up. 20.1 mpg. That's a mixed bag of driving. Highway, city, mountains, rural and fields. I have a double cab v6 4x4. This tank also had a couple 60 ft burn outs. Can't complain at all!

I have the v6 and am getting really good mileage. The lowest I have gotten is in the 17's and the highest has been in the 20's. I think I'm averaging 18.3 or 18.4. No complaints on my side about mpg.

2 full fill ups and 1 12 gallon fill up. First fill up 17.1, second fill up was 17.6. Both of those were lots of rural driving and plenty of hunting (4x4 use). 12 gallon fill up was 75% highway and the rest like above 2 tanks. That fill up I got 19.3. So far I am plenty happy with my 4.3 double cab 4x4.

Almost done with my first tank on my double cab 4x4 v6 with 3.42 gears. Currently the computer shows 17.9 mpg. I still have about 150 miles but if that's close I am happy. It has been cold here in Maryland over the last week, so warm ups are necessary and I have done a good bit of hunting. I can only imagine it getting better.
