  1. I may keep the diesel, but the reason I want to go back to gas is because these -30 degree weather has really messed with me. Apparently I forgot I tanked up in a southern state, and it had no diesel winter fuel treatment and it was not fun trying to start it. Totally my fault, but something I dont want to deal with.
  2. I have a 2019 Duramax Chevy and had no real issues with it. Since I am going on 5 year ownership with it, I would like something new. I got rid of my boat, so I do not need to tow but I always utilize the bed so I need a truck. I was looking at 1500 Chevys and GMCs and the engine issues with them are scaring me. So I figured I go to the 6.6 gasser and again back to the 2500. Question - is the engine reliable? I do not see too many topics where it goes bad. Is there anything else I need to worry about? I just need another truck that gives me 5 years of trouble free operations as I drive a lot between my two homes in IL and FL. Thanks!
  3. Msrp on mine was 72k. I got it for 59k. I love buying last year models for two reasons. Discounts and reliability. My 2016 Sierra, even though it was second year model new, had a lot of gremlins. My last issue was my rear defroster caught the plastic in back on fire. Also my HMI died. But the issue that almost broke my arm was the stupid retractable step. It would randomly go back and forth. So I got a great deal on a trade and did it. Just one warning. These Silverado’s have the worst headlights possible. Especially compared to my leds on the Sierra. I already have led headlights on order and installed this Thursday. Headlight revolution hooked me up.
  4. Traded in my 2016 Sierra Denali 6.2 on this 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Duramax Midnight edition. Love the power!!
  5. Was going to wait on the 2020s but I just can't get over how ugly they look. So I picked up a 2019 2500 6.6 Duramax Midnight edition on Saturday. So far I love it!
  6. This started to happen to my Truck (2016 Sierra Denali) yesterday. https://imgur.com/a/Ip4dEKP Going to dealership on Friday.
  7. My 2016 Sierra Denali started exhibit smoke from rear defroster. Gonna call dealer tomorrow. Anyone else have this happen? https://imgur.com/a/Ip4dEKP
  8. All Polaris. Got a John Deere tractor though!!
  9. Outside as well - you have to pop open the hood and the smell is on the drivers side forward area. Very pronounced.
  10. For those that care here is the update. The dealer said the differential fluid is overheating and thus creating the smell. It is because some bearing is causing some issue. This is the third truck they saw this happen to. I got a loaner. They said GM is aware of issue and TSB may be around the corner. I will post the entire ticket up here once they are done with it.
  11. Yes! Only when AC is on. and they just changed my oil for the first time two weeks ago. It started around then. You think there is some residual oil burning off?
  12. Thanks Chris - I will schedule a trip to dealer it's just I know these types of issues are hard to replicate and or diagnose. Hoping to find someone with same issues.
  13. I just noticed that my 2016 Sierra Denali with the 6.2 engine has a gas smell inside the cab. Not fuel but it smells like natural gas. Truck only has 4800 miles and I just noticed it this week. This happens when the truck reaches normal operating temperature. Ideas?
