  1. No problem. If it helps the transmission never overheated. Ever. Highest temp I ever saw was 200f in the middle of summer. So I think we can rule out over heating. Even when it failed (drove home in third so tc wouldn’t lock up) it still wasn’t hot. So mechanical failure would be most likely. The reman front pump I believe was built with a different valve. My guy said he hasn’t had a return issue in dozens of rebuilds. Mom and pop shop. His dad was rebuilding powerglides and other 50s and 60s transmissions. For me he rebuilt an old Chrysler intrepid fwd, 2004R, powerglide, 6L80e, 4L60E and a 700R4 and I haven’t had to go back for any. Really good shops around here are few so I’m glad I found one close by. But yes 90K regular service since I didn’t do much severe duty stuff like towing or off roading. 2. Regular per gm maintenance schedule. Stock factory layout? Not sure what this means but it is as purchased. Nope 140k miles 225k km I can try to find out. But it could be as simple as any other common problem “GM saved 4 cents purchasing this inferior valve and most fail outside of warranty so why make it better?” Cheers Adam Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. No problem! He also said he’s starting to see 8L90s with the same issue just not as many. Though the 6L80 is fairly old by comparison to the 8 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Mostly highway Regular service intervals Very Little towing (racecar 5 or 6 times a year) My guy has done a pile of 6L80es (had 4 there while doing mine) and the valve in the front pump is the culprit 95% of the time. My torque converter was in my pan lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Mine went at 140k my trans guy said the valve that activated the tc are bad on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Is this the fix for 2016's? Mine is doing it pretty bad. Well bad enough it is bothering the crap out of me. Is your seat still good?
  7. Wait. You soldered a diode on to a $600 board just to have fogs when your high beams are on? I have never heard of this mod and judging by your experience i do not intend to perform. Light output is just fine for my wallet. lol. Thanks for posting this warning to those of us who had not heard of this. A really nice LED bar behind the grill for that money!
  8. 19000 miles and no issue with idle. 87 octane since new
  9. My 2016 does it to albeit not as bad. GM installed stops next to the white plastic rotating pieces but there is still a small gap. I will be installing a zip tie to make up the difference. The zip tie will be a wearable part so it may be replaced from time to time.
  10. Anybody put the MIT on a 2016 with the high capacity air box RPO K47? Airaid emailed me and said they cannot recommend it for my 2016 AT as it has not been tested
  11. i just threw in some 89 to see if it makes a big enough difference. I will log some data and compare the 89 and the 87. I need 10% better MPG for the boss to justify the 10% increase in cost per liter.
  12. I was referring to installing a coalescent in the internal baffle. As in the other thread, i installed some screen and stainless pot scrubber in the baffle to provide better coalescing than from the manufacturer. the holes in the baffle are too big to be effective. See the ADD W1 thread to see what i mean.
  13. Correct me if i am wrong guys but isn't the check valve for boosted applications when there is a possibility of positive pressure in the intake? NA engines don't create positive pressure in the intake unless an intake valve is stuck.
  14. Afm lifters are still garbage apparently. Tuned mine out
  15. 93 in a 6.2 i understand but why in a 5.3? unless it is tuned to run on it. A stock 5.3 requires no more than 89 (87 mfr recommended) at best so why the added expense of higher octane? Here 91 is roughly 50 cents more a gallon.
