  1. Im back on this forum after a long hiatus. Thinking about finally replacing my 2014 Sierra 5.3 and googled "2022 sierra problems". This thread came up. I bought a new 2013 Sierra with a 6.2, at 30k miles the engine piled up. Lifters. Traded it on my current 2014. at 80k miles, engine piled up, lifters, cam, etc etc etc. It has since been good aside from the torque converter piling up twice, first time at 161,000 km, 1000 km out of warranty, happened on my drive home from work which was 1200 km. Second time, 100k km later, it did it again but needed a transmission rebuild/upgrade(i upgraded the trash factory torque converter). It now has 225k miles. My last 6 trucks were GM and I'm a bit dismayed they still have the same lifter problems.
  2. So do you have to bleed the system off? Is that even a thing?
  3. I should note is it more prominent in the winter, after sitting for a bit.
  4. Nope I havent done anything to it. I mentioned it to the dealer, but their mentality is, we will fix it when it breaks
  5. Did your truck screech or squeal when you started it, prior to this? Mine does.
  6. The one in my signature is 5500 lbs dry, 31' ft. Pulls it relatively easy. I have the 3.42's
  7. I've always gone with performance in the past... Should have bought a damn 6.2. Towing wasn't even a thought at the time.
  8. Hey guys, I just bought a travel trailer with a dry weight of 5500 lbs. I've only taken it for a short test tow so far, and it's the only thing I have ever towed. I expected it to pull a bit better, but maybe that's just how it is. So far my truck just has a flo pro muffler. Also added a K&N intake, that makes more noise than anything, and I swear reduced power. Think I'm gonna put the factory box back on. My question is, will a Blackbear tune improve towing enough to risk losing warranty? Or should I just suck it up for now. He has done my last two trucks with great results, but GM sounds like they won't be overlooking tunes, in the event of a critical failure. Anyone have experience with before and after results?

  10. Took this thing for a test tow today, seems okay, but I'm new to towing. Picking the trailer up on Saturday. 5500 lbs dry.
  11. Thanks for the post. This helps with my headlight upgrade. Looks like you're taking these pictures in a directional shop. MWD EM gear and subs in all the pics.
  12. I bought the stubby. Works just as well as the factory one. It was like 25 bucks. http://www.stubbyantenna.com/
  13. On ice, ABS pretty much prevents you from braking at all. I'd rather be able to pump my brakes. I think I'll start pulling the fuse when I think it will help. Keep in mind we all drove without it for years... Which means we know how to. I've already gone sliding uncontrollably, while driving on an icy logging road in the mountains. Just about wrecked really bad, but managed to swing it sideways around the corner at the bottom of the hill. Stabilitrak fought me the whole time though. This year I don't have those garbage factory tires on it though, so don't slide nearly as much. On a side note, Duratracs are unreal tires. 15,000 KM on them this summer, and they still perform unbelievably well during the winter. I despised Goodyear till i bought these.
  14. I don't even bother plugging mine in. -30C today, and it started the same plugged in, as it does unplugged. The block heater works about as well as my heated seats.
  15. I did. The welds on a panel under the steering column broke, causing a rattle behind the outer plastic shell. They replaced a part, but it still rattles if I tap it.
