2018 GMC 2500 hd 6.0 60K miles Couple months ago, started getting intermittent chirp from belt/pulleys. Seemed worse in wet weather. Tried trouble shooting. Sprayed water on the serpentine belt and it would stop the chirp temporarily. Figured a new belt would fix it. It did fix it for a few weeks, then it came back. Sprayed water on the new belt again and it would temporarily stop the chirp again for a few seconds. I did a little more investigating and figured I would change the tensioner and idler pulley. Changed both of those and the stretch fit air conditioning belt (which was not fun) but that didn't stop it. Tried another new belt, different brand this time, and the squeaking stopped again...for about only 3 weeks and now it's back. Spray a little water on the belt, and it momentarily stops the squeal. I can't determine exactly where it's coming from, if it's a pulley or what? If its a pulley, why does it stop when I spray a little water on the belt? I did remove the belt and just grabbed all the pulleys and they don't seem to have any play in them and spin quietly. Any ideas?

I just got a call from the dealer and he had 2 different techs drive it and said the noise it makes was normal. They didn't have another truck there to compare it to. I should monitor it and bring it back if it gets louder or changes in any way.

If that's the case, and everything is fine but it's just noisy, I can live with that.

So I put my 2018 GMC 2500HD 6.0 in 4 hi for the first time today as it was snowing heavy. The thing was whining and noisy like I’ve never heard before. Worse on deceleration and acceleration and worse above 35 mph. It sounded like it was coming from under the passenger side floor. (transfer case?) I had a 2017 truck too in the exact same model that was no where near this loud. In fact, I could not even hear the difference between being in 4wd or 2wd. A few times I would forget the 2017 was even in 4hi. There is no mistaking it in this 2018. I did some searching on the net and came across a service bulletin about a noisy transfer case in 2015-2018s that they claim is normal. But I don’t understand why the 2017 would be so quiet and this one so noisy? I do have an appointment on Monday at 7am to have it looked at. I'm afraid they are going to tell me it's normal. My uncle as a 2016 2500HD and it too is very quiet in 4hi.

If you order connector (571-2035363-4) from mouser you will get the connector shown in the second picture, that says 2018.

I just checked my order for mouser. That part number is the correct connector for the 2018 charging module. I have a 2017 truck and the connector I removed from my truck was not the same as this new one I installed. And the connector that was on my truck would not plug into the 2018 wireless module Although I did read somewhere that someone was able to force it on somehow? I didn’t try that hard as I had the new correct connector.

No. It uses the same 3 wires but the actual plug is different for the 2018 module than in previous year modules. Look back through this message and see the photos user Pgamboa posted of the different plugs for the different years. I believe it is around page 10.

I prefer not to connect via CarPlay so this works for me. On the rare occasion I’m playing some media off of my phone in the truck I just do it through Bluetooth.

I had to email them directly and got a quick response too. Maybe I will edit my post to include that bit of info too.

The new module

I posted this same message on another thread about wireless charging, but seeing I started this thread, I figured I would update it to. Sooooo.... So after messing around with this forever, I think I finally have it working. I have a 2017 Denali HD that came with the wireless charger that wouldn't work with my iPhone 8. I ordered the wireless charger module for a 2018 Denali HD part number 13521066 from needgmparts.com. It was 97.65 plus shipping. The new charger module has a different plug but uses the same 3 wires. I ordered the new plug from Mouser electronics part number 571-2035363-4 . It cost 71 cents. I easily unpinned the old connector. When installing the new connector, the pins on the wires had a little "nub" sticking out on one side that wouldn't allow me to slide it into the new connector. I took a small pliers and just squeezed these "nubs" down so they were flush. The pins then slid in easily and clicked in place securely. Plugged the new wireless module in and put the lid for the center console back together and it seems to be working the way it should now. Little green lightning bolt shows up on the screen when phone is on the charge pad. I can pick the phone up, set it back down and it starts charging again immediately. It's not really that finicky about where it is on the pad. Thanks to all the users on here for the information they provided regarding the parts, connectors, correct part numbers, etc:
