  1. Most gas station blend 87 and 91/93 at the nozzle to get you 89. So, depending on the day, you could have more 87 in the mix or more 91/93 in the mix. I noticed a big difference before I got my truck tuned when I switched from 87 to 93. I did not have a big difference in numbers when I got it dyno tuned for 93 though. I got 16 mpg last fill up with winter blend on 93 doing mostly 60 mph country roads and hot dogging at red lights. I am sorry about your dad chris.
  2. The l33 has the same cam the later model ls1's,lq4, and lq9 has. I would put a little more aggressive cam in if it was me (something geared more for torque production in the low to mid range but doesn't give up hp on the top end). Something to take more advantage the higher compression the l33 has over the lm7 My brother's old 98 grand am with the 3.1 v6 got 31 mpg on long trips and regular got in the low 20s around town. But that is when I drive it, my brother drives like he in a police chase movie and never saw that kind of mileage.
  3. They are out in force here. I am just waiting on all the people commuting home to subside so I can have some more fun.
  4. Got to play in the snow!!! And use 4WD for once lol.
  5. Love it when people don't know how to drive when it snows!

I grew up in Clayton/Henry county area of GA. I know how they drive lol. It is actually better down there bc everyone drives the same. Here, we get drivers from all over and they all drive different.

Haha, I didn't try, it kind of blanketed real quick at my work then left. Had to get home so it was slow driving.

Yup, was like that here for me too. Pushed a button and never had a problem getting home.

  6. I live in Charlottesville VA and I am looking to move to Waynesboro. I64 and I81 are alwayz stupid fast speeds. Hell, even the semis are doing 75+ on that side of the mountain. The way my truck is geared, 315 with stock 373 gears, she is doing about 2k at 75mph. I too get a shake now at speed, between 62-66, goes away around 72-74 then starts back on the high side of 75. I think it because of the tires, I did not have the shake with my more aggressive Kelly tsr. My parents live in Alexandria area, I am up there at least twice a month, I know N VA traffic. It is horrible, horrible, horrible! Thank you, I am hoping to hear back this Friday on either job. Crossing fingers man, I need a real job lol.
  7. Drove 150 miles between interviews and apartment hunting today. Truck loves doing 70+
  8. Had to replace the rear pads on my truck 2 nights ago. I put new pads and rotors just about a year ago and the rear pads were shot. The inside pads were almost to the metal backing. Also. the bearing in my alternator is seizing up, so I will be replacing it Saturday.
  9. I dropped and filled the trans today. Took a lot longer than I remember it did on my old truck. I did a complete drain and fill over the summer, also switched to dexron 4, just never got around to changing the filter. Not a whole lot of clutch material on the mag or in the filter. Not bad for almost 200k on the trans
  10. Trans filter change. Took longer than I thought

  11. I know, done it before lol. Not a big problem, just need to scrap the money and look for them.
  12. Alright, thank y'all for the quick replies and I hope to have pic of this new setup within the next 2 month.

  14. I thought about airbags, I rather have strong leaf springs. Less things to go bad. What is that saying KISS, keep it simple stupid (not trying to be mean, just something my shop techer kept saying and makes since all the time lol). Thanks for the input y'all, sounds like exactly what I am looking for. Just to be clear again, no alignment issue with 3/4 springs. I read it somewhere (can't remember now) and just wanted to make sure it is not true. That is a great price for those at the salvage yard. Also, do I need the shackles from the 3/4 ton too or with the 1/2 ton work?
  15. Hey guys, Just wondering who has done this and how you like it. How much you paid for them? Did you install it yourself or had a shop do it? I heard the the 3/4 ton springs don't center the rear on 1/2 tons, is that true and is it noticeable? I am looking at options on either AAL or 3/4 ton springs, both on top of 2" blocks. Looking for both height and better load carrying. I know it won't legally be able to haul more but since I am planning on making it an exposdition rig, I need to the stability and the ride height not to change much when loaded for off roading. I do not care about stiff ride so please don't talk about the ride. This will be going on my crew cab truck
