  1. fuel pump not working. found the black from the 4 wires going to tan plug bad, so to the frame bad so replaced. test light on the 3 pins tan (outside). purple (middle) and black (outside): with key on test light power to middle purple only, using black ground (outside the 3 pins) to the frame. no power to purple or black/tracer added 12 volts to the the plug going to the tank, power to tan pump runs with 60psi. does not run when power to purple or black w/tracer. so the pump runs with power to tan, but truck is not sending power to that wire. I'm thinking the pump is good , but have a bad tan wire with no power from the truck. any suggestions? If I add a wire, where would I attach this to, the fuse box for the pump? thanks all.
  2. 2005 1500 5.3L 180K on it. I had plug and resistor changed in spring of '21. as it would make fan stop working. after that I noticed it doesn't really blow much air on 1-2. some air on 3-5. could it be the blower? this week I had fan shut off on 5 while going down the road. it worked on others but not 5. turn fan off and on and it came back on. it did 5 times.
  3. The one thing with this truck is replaced almost everything on it [emoji23]. Brakes lines rusted out. Replaced with copper nickel. Radiator went bad and put coolant in to transmission. Rebuild on transmission. Wheel bearings twice in 90k didn’t think was to bad. Knock sensors. Original alternator. New belts 4 years ago. Axel seals in rear differential. 4x4 encoder motor. There was a ton stuff that went bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 2005 1500 5.3L 166k miles on it. Have had it since 70k. Done the normal oil changes. Changed all fluids in coolant, front and rear differentials and Transfer case. Replaced spark plugs and wires at 100k. What else should I have done? AC system has not been serviced or fuel system. Should I have that stuff done? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Its come back off and on. Hasn’t done it in a while. One thing I noticed in winter when cold out. It will smoke a lot. Other vehicles i see on road are not smoking that much. What could it be? 162k on it now. Have had truck since 70k and only used full synthetic mobile one oil. I let truck warm up in winter months before leaving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Going down this road now. 2005 here. What not to do? Buy stainless o2 extenders on ebay. There to long. So makes sensor not read right or not work at all. Took it to a shop. $450 for them to diagnose it. To tell me that $10 extender cause of problem. Then find out cat is bad. I see jegs has stainless one for $550. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How to clean it? If you can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Same truck and same issue here lol. I just had resistor and plug replaced. Still does it. Now thinking it might be blenddoor actuator? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well CEL back on. 420 and 430. Converter is bad. Looking at replacing it. What is good one? I see flowmaster for $579 on jeggs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Now with heat on ,blower on 5. It doesn’t really throw that much heat out now. Its like on setting 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Got truck back today. Have extender on that o2 sensor. Bought what i thought was a stainless o2 sensor extender. But Its not meant for the o2. Restricting the air flow. So that is what caused this. Tested the o2 sensor data on my scan tool. They all read .45 volts. Bank 2 volts moves up down now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. took truck to mechanic. they put scan tool on it. Found no issues in wiring, PCM or converter. they say its the 02 sensor that is bad. I just put new one on last week and still get the code. there going to put new o2 sensor on it and see.
  13. is it mainly the plug or resistor problem? plug here does not have any burn makes on it. should I still replace it though? thinking of just replacing the resistor with updated one.
  14. tested fuel pressure, its at 61psi. going to test temperature of catalytic converter, what should that be? so if catalytic converter is bad is it good to go with cheap one or not? found online can get stainless steel one for $250.
  15. did some more testing with multi meter and 12 volt test light. now since did testing with the plug, p2a04 code comes up now. O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2 Sensor 2. could it be the o2 sensor plug is bad?
