  1. I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 4X4 and need a little help figuring out my brake problem. My brakes seem to have never been all that great but lately I have noticed they are very spongy compared to all the other cars I own. About 1 year ago I blew both sets of lines leading into the ABS module from the Master Cylinder. I replaced the lines along with the lines that go into the distribution block. I read about possibly needing to bleed the ABS module so I bled the whole system everything seemed good so I threw the truck on jack stands got all 4 tires off the ground put her in gear and jacked the brakes it cycled the ABS a few times re bled didn't get much if anything. Long story short here are the symptoms. Truck off pump up brakes they get firm but seem close to the floor once firm. If I turn the truck on and pump brakes they darn near touch the floor board after being pumped and held. I don't notice any bleed down when holding them with the truck running or off. I haven't had to screw with brakes this much in any of my other vehicles not to mention how quickly the lines rotted. I replaced my front lines from ABS at 55k miles the rear at 68k then the ones between the MC and ABS module at 105k. I have a Pontiac vibe 1 year newer with 236k miles and they don't look a day old. I don't drive the truck much but with firewood season upon us and needing to bring wood to the house I want to be able to stop. All other components are in good working order, I will be doing a brake job on all 4 corners in the near future even though there is tons of pad left I figured might as well get it all done. Also going to get new rotors when I do it. So any and all advice would be great. My plan is to try bleeding all for corners first and see how that goes then maybe look into the MC or Brake booster.
  2. The lights are going bad one by one and the Speedo steeper motor is shot reading over 120 mph all the time and does not return to zero. I was looking to add the tranny temp mine is a 1500 w/o it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. I should also add the radio also doesn't turn on Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. Can I swap a 2000 Silverado 2500hd gauge cluster into a 2003 Silverado 1500? The only thing I can see different is the connection comes out the top of the cluster on the 2500 instead of the back and the dic across the bottom. I'm asking because I grabbed off craigslist for $75 thinking it would work but as soon as I plug it in I get 3 dings and nothing on the cluster lights up/moves. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 5. Great, appreciate the info. I have always liked GM products over Dodge and Ford for reliability unlike most I realize every manufacturer has issues it is just how it is handled that makes a person come back.
  6. I haven't been following the forums in a while but was wondering if the AFM system is also present in the 2500 series 6.0L? If so are they having similar problems or did GM finally come up with a solution for the lifter failure other than a few instances? Also did they go to the 60k mile warranty instead of 100k because of this issue and they don't want to back their vehicles knowing there is an issue. I am currently undecided between the 6.4L 2500 Ram and 6.0L 2500HD but based on what I have been reading the reliability issue of GM I am leaning towards the Ram. Don't get me wrong I have been a long time GM guy but after issues I have had with my 03 Silverado and the track record they have had with the lifter issues makes me weary.
  7. What about the weight difference or hp to weight ratio of the 2. I am pretty sure the tundra has GM beat there and that is why they are "faster".
