  1. I have been a very loyal Chevy/GM guy. Owned a 2002-1500 then went to a 2007-1500 and I currently own a 2011-2500HD. I love the truck but have had it for about 6 years now and I am starting to look at new trucks. I am looking for my next truck to be a diesel just because I have never owned a diesel and Its one of those things I have always wanted. I do minimal towing, no plowing, and light work out of my truck (pick up pavers, trees, ex for my landscaping business) So lets talk SCOOPS !!! I have to say that the HOOD scoop on the new HD is horrible. I cant get passed it when looking at these new trucks. I have loved my chevy's but I am considering a different truck all together. Anyone else turned off completely from these SCOOPS>> -Matt
  2. Is the oem gas filled ? rancho ? Rough country ? I know a lot of guys that use these with no complaints. This is very obvious pull to the right. Driving at 40 mph, you have to constantly redirect to the left.
  3. Well after putting a few miles on the truck is seriously tracking to the right. I understand it's a gas filled shock but is this normal ? Should I try a different brand shock ? Or totally do away with it. It's tracking so bad I constantly have to redirect it back to the left. I have the same one on my 08' Ford F-350 without any tracking issue.
  4. Did some research last week when I ordered my Bilstein shocks and it appears there was never a stabilizer put on these trucks. The mount and holes are there just no shock. Ordered the Bilstein stabilizer for the truck along with then shocks. Steering stabalizer came with all the necessary hardware for install. I Just put it in. Took 10 min. Figured I would share my experiance for anyone looking for a cheap upgrade $75-$90 There are other options for 40-60$. Rough country, Monroe ex. ex.
  5. 2011 - 2500HD purchased with 13,000 miles 3 1/2 years ago. Now I have 31,000 miles. I have a very short commute and plan to have this truck a long time
  6. I have two trucks. One is for work, 2008 F-350 and one is my daily driver, 2011 Silverado 2500HD My work one gets a lot of short trips and plowing and not many miles and my daily driver doesn't get used a lot, maybe 5000 miles a year. I do the oil and filter in both every 6 months with Mobil one synthetic. I figure an oil change is less than 30$ per truck. That's only $60 a year, times two. For the peice of mind I don't mind spending the little bit of money. In my mind it's pennies compaired to what these trucks make me $$ Matt
  7. That's another major topic that no one discussed, time ? How long is too long to keep oil in the engine ? What If I put 4000-5000 miles on a year but I don't wanna change my oil every two years
  8. Dealer thinks its in the rear Went for a ride with the tech today and we were able to reproduce it twice. Goes in Monday Matt
  9. Went for a ride today with a friend of mine who knows a good deal about vehicles. I couldnt get the truck to make the noise/griding unless I drove on the highway and heated up whatever is going bad. Came off an exit and slowly strarted off from a stop on a slight incline with the wheel turned right and it happened. He beleives the passenger side caliper might be hanging up after the heat get to it. Its more described as a grinding, chatter kind of noise. Once it does it the first time, it does not do it after until you repeat the drive.
  10. Well dealer had it all day today and just got a call that surprisingly he didn't feel it. I'm sooooo surprised. Going to pick it up tonight and go back down there when I have time for him to go for a ride with me. Funny thing is I felt it happen in the parking lot when I dropped it off. Matt
  11. Thanks for the help guys. In the mean time I spoke with my buddy who owns a trans shop. He told me its probably the G80 acting up after being on the highway for a long period of time, and the oil thinning out from heat. We will see what GM says. Thanks
