new variant of its Hydra-Matic rear-wheel-drive six-speed transmission.
The new 6L90 six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission
is standard in the all new 2007 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado

DETROIT - General Motors today announced that it will provide consumers with a fully transferable five-year/100,000-mile* powertrain limited warranty with no deductible, on all GM Certified Used Vehicles, the industry's top-selling manufacturer-certified used vehicle brand.
"Last fall, GM unveiled the best new car and truck coverage of any full-line manufacturer in the nation**, letting customers know that every one of our 2007 light-duty vehicles delivers a superior level of quality," said Troy Clarke, GM group vice president and president, GM North America. "We're very pleased to now offer that same level of confidence with every GM Certified Used Vehicle from Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac."

DETROIT – Everyone at General Motors obsesses about quality these days – even the robots in the assembly plants.
During the CBS telecast of Super Bowl XLI on Feb. 4, GM will launch the next phase of a corporate campaign that began last fall with the introduction of the GM 100,000 Mile Warranty. A new 60-second TV spot, called “Robot,” will tell consumers about GM’s continuing focus on quality.

DETROIT – Fresh off two class victories at their season-opening race, the SCORE International Laughlin Desert Challenge, Team HUMMER turns their focus to Parker, Ariz. for the Best In the Desert Racing Association’s season opener, the Blue Water Resort and Casino Parker “425”, February 2-3.
Team HUMMER owner and 39-year Baja 1000 veteran, Rod Hall, and his sons Josh and Chad will enter their stock-class H1 Alpha, H2 and H3 in this year’s race, which consists of three 136-mile laps in the desert east of Parker. An additional three miles added to the first and last lap bring the total race distance to grueling, 414 off-road miles.

NEW YORK -- General Motors (NYSE: GM) today announced that it is looking at strategic options related to its Allison Transmission commercial and military operations, including a potential sale of the business. This process is another potential step in GM’s plan to improve liquidity through the assessment of strategic options for a business that is not central to GM’s mission of designing, manufacturing and selling cars and light trucks globally. GM continues to have a strong liquidity position, with more than $20 billion in cash and marketable securities at the end of the third quarter 2006.
