Signs of Super Bowl XL are showing up in Detroit---Way Up!
Tuesday, 27 December 2005
DETROIT – Beginning earlier this week, the Renaissance Center, General Motors headquarters and Detroit's most visible skyline feature, started getting a new look in preparation for its role as the Super Bowl Media Center . The middle tower of the Renaissance Center, a tall 73 stories and the highest of the center’s towers, will feature Super Bowl XL’s official logo along with the logos for the NFL and Cadillac, the official vehicle sponsor for the Super Bowl.

The signage on the Renaissance Center carries the “Road to Forty” theme of this year’s Super Bowl and will share the look and feel of all Super Bowl XL signs, banners, and artwork that will ultimately be visible around Detroit.

For the fifth consecutive year, Cadillac will again reign as the official vehicle sponsor of the Super Bowl. In addition to a large Cadillac wreath and crest adorning the Renaissance Center, other preparations are currently taking place. A fleet of approximately 400 vehicles from Cadillac’s entire lineup will be provided to the NFL for use the week of the game. The official Super Bowl XL signage is currently being adhered to all 400 Cadillac vehicles.

Beginning next month, many all-new 2007 Cadillac Escalades will be prominently displayed and driven by VIPs around the city of Detroit. Cadillac also recently announced that the 2007 Escalade will be available as the MVP vehicle given to Super Bowl XL’s Most Valuable Player as part of Cadillac’s official vehicle sponsorship. For the past four years, Cadillac has provided the MVP award winner an opportunity to select a Cadillac of their choice. The 2007 Escalade will go into production in the first quarter of 2006 ensuring that if chosen, the MVP winner would be the owner of one of the first vehicles produced.

“We’re excited that Super Bowl XL is coming to Detroit and that preparations are now under way around the city,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. “We proudly display our wreath and crest big and bold on our new line of Cadillac vehicles, but the one affixed to the front of the Renaissance Center is certainly the largest in our history.”
