ZR1 Demands Attention On Woodward Ave

This year's Woodward Dream Cruise was out of this world. No matter how particular your tastes may be, you'll find more cars to admire than you can reasonably deal with. Many cars stood out as one of a kind, but only one was talked about the entire length of Woodward Ave.

This past weekend the Woodward Dream Cruise rolled into the Suburbs of Detroit.  Muscle, classic, antique, rare, exotic, new, old, shiny, rusted, finished, in-progress... Any metaphor you could come up with to describe a car, you'd find it either parked alongside or cruising up and down the legendary road.  Walking up and down the avenue gives access to a never ending no-bounds car culture conversation, digested in bits and pieces as you walk from group to group down the sidewalk. Ford vs Chevy to American vs Imported- any and every classic battle was being discussed by someone, somewhere, at any given time along the route. And if it wasn't being discussed, it just may have been played out in a quick stoplight race or burnout.

As I walked up and down from party to party and car to car, one particular model seemed to find its way into the passing breeze more than others. The new 2009 Corvette ZR1. Chevrolet was driving them up and down Woodward all day.  GM, which had rented out Athens Coney Island, parked four more of them alongside a dozen classic cars  from the Century Cruise and a new 2010 Camaro RS.

Since the ZR1 is such a visually stunning car, here is an exclusive gallery of the Supervette in and on Woodward Ave.  Yes- that's Ron Fellows driving the red one.
