Conclusion:
So what is our final opinion on the new Tahoe?  Well, we’re going to sound like the GM devotees we try so hard to neutralize in our writing, but we really liked it.  The car like ride, feel, and interior really hit a home run. Yes, it’s an unconventional feeling driving so high with a dash so low, but we grew to love the feeling almost immediately.  We also obviously feel the displacement on demand, oops; active fuel management, system is in need of some fine tuning, but does noticeably help in the mileage numbers. Another two speeds in the transmission can’t come soon enough for this wonderful engine that puts out a beautiful note.  Yes, others will find there own high spots and flaws in this new model, but in our driving, what we wrote about is what we found.  As always, we recommend you drive one at a local dealer to find out for yourself.
So where does this leave Chevrolet and more importantly General Motors? As spring training is in full swing, it might be easy to think of it in terms of baseball.  Unfortunately for Chevrolet/GM, they’ve gotten themselves into a one hell of a swing fest and they trail by three.  It’s the proverbial bottom of the ninth, the bases are loaded, and GM’s biggest hitters, the Silverado and Sierra, are coming to the plate next.  If GM can hit the new trucks out of the park, it will mark a huge win and it may be the beginning of a return to profitability.   If they can’t it willmake those great scores in the beginning of the inning all for naught.
