Living in Texas we dont get much ice, but at least once or twice a year you can bet that there will be an ice storm. Usually last a day or so but its like having a half inch of ice on everything. The last time we had ice I did not have a scraper so I used a log off the wood pile. Not the best tool but next time I will be better prepaired.

This product sounds better than using a credit card, as we are in Florida and keeping a real ice scraper available not going to happen.

Canadian winters suck, its usually -20ish every morning here, i have broken both wipers this year and striped the bolts holding the arms from the ice buildup and weight of the snow, i have no choice to let the truck warm up for 15 mins every morning to get the frost off the truck. It sucks!! and doesnt help the MPGS!

I live in the Banff National Park in Canada and we regularly get temperatures below minus 25 celcius, and of course, frozen windows every morning (sometimes even in June and August !).
The town of Banff being an “idle-free” town, and myself being concerned about conserving energy, it is not an option to let my vehicle idle for several minutes to defrost windows.
I think that these products can greatly help conserve energy ! (including the energy I need to scrape windows…)

Hi, This is Mark from Banff again…
I thought I’d include a link to a short clip (French Canadian Humour) that depicts how worked-up some of us can get being exposed to so many days of windshield scraping !!! Enjoy !

I live in Kansas and our weather can go from 65 and sunny one day to 5 with a windchill of -18 in a day and very unpredictable. I have had to use hot water to melt ice on the windshield, my gloves, bare hands, girlfriends purse, you name it I have used it because you cannot keep an ice scrapper around in Kansas. Some storms are very little snow and ice like an 1/8 to getting dumped on with 1/4″ ice and then 3 to 5 in of snow on top and then some more freezing rain. If these products really work as good as they say I would become a lifetime user just because of the crazy weather Kansans have to deal with every year!

I got off work and went out to warm up my car to defrost the ice. When I went back out I noticed none of the ice had melted my heater went out. So I dug around my car couldn’t find a scraper and had to use a cd case that kept on breaking. So has I’m driving home the windows kept freezing up. I had to keep pulling over on the highway to scrap my windows with pieces of the broken case. It was a nightmare.

I struggled out of the house in the freezing cold, sleepy, grumpy and sneezing. Yep, I was several dwarves froze into one. I was already running late, of course. So while warming up the car, I needed to scrap off the ice. No scraper, no comb, no credit card. The only thing I had was an empty pepsi bottle. Ever tried to scrap off ice with one? Don’t bother trying it. That was one ugly morning.

Pushed the windshield washer switch to spray the windshield to melt the ice — got a big suprise. The so called bug remover stuff that I put in back in the summer froze solid. it also pushed the lines off the spray nozzles in front of the windshield. Found the bottle in the garage and it was froze solid. The stuff shouldn’t be sold here in Michigan. Finally got every thing thawed out and had to take the plastic grill off below the windshield to put the hoses back on. I then slipped off the truck near the hood latch catching My dress pants on the hood latch and ripping them from the knee right out the bottom.
Sure would have been a good time to have that Deicer in the washer tank and some to spray on the windshield !!!

I had an issue with ice on a day when we had a ice storm the night before, woke up to a fire call in the early morning and forgetting about the ice storm ran out to my car in a rush to get to the firehouse only to find everything covered in ice(windshield, door handles) so I had to run back and forth from the house to my truck with hot water just to get the windshield and handles un frozen in a hurry.(wipers were also frozen so using the anti freeze wasnt an option)
