GM core brand sales up in December, down 2009 vs 2008 from non-core brand shuttering

DETROIT – GM dealers in the U.S. reported 160,996 retail deliveries in December – a 7 percent increase compared to last year, and a 50 percent increase over last month. GM pulls the plug on 1,124 under-performing dealerships

General Motors sent franchise termination letters to 1,124 of it’s dealers this morning in the first move of a plan to pare the automaker’s dealer network of 5,969 dealerships down to 3,600.
