Did Chevrolet just win the race to produce an honest to goodness affordable electric vehicle? The brand quietly updated its website today to include official pricing for the “base” Equinox EV 1LT, and if the numbers are true- Chevrolet just delivered exactly what they promised. A sub $30k EV.

While Chevrolet announced that the first Equinox EV to go on sale would be the $48k RS model late last fall, the brand promised that a cheaper, base 1LT trim level Equinox EV would debut in 2024. When in 2024? Back then, we didn’t exactly know. Today we do… it’s well…today. April 18th, 2024. Without fanfare, the 1LT trim spec and price was updated on the Chevrolet Equinox EV website.

The Chevrolet website now lists the starting price of the Equinox EV 1LT at $33,600 before destination charge. That's $26,100 after a Federal $7,500 rebate

We now know that the base 1LT Equinox EV will start at $33,600 before the destination charge. That means it will effectively cost consumers who qualify for the $7,500 US Federal Tax Rebate only $26,100.

This “base” 1LT version of the Equnox EV will come standard in Front-Wheel-Drive and boasts an impressive 319 miles of range.
