  1. Duramax Colorado & Canyon- On Sale Or Not?

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham

    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    12/17/2015
Has any reader of this post actually taken delivery of a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon with a Duramax 2.8-liter diesel engine? The reason we ask is that according to one of our respected peers on the internet there are no diesels for sale yet. Meaning a truck a customer can take home. This is not what GM led us to believe. Rather than ask the company for a third time when the trucks will reside in buyers' driveways we thought we'd check in with you, the biggest fans of all.

  2. Finding New Roads Driving the Sixth Generation 2016 Camaro SS

    Teaser Paragraph:

    November 2015

As we cut a path north of Boulder, Colorado there was no doubt, the 2016 Camaro SS I was driving couldn’t have made me feel more alive. The tight mountain road leading to Estes Park climbed and the temperature fell. A sense of danger started to creep into what we had planned to do. A 455 horsepower muscle car with 20-inch summer performance tires was perfect on a warm afternoon. However, it was the day before Halloween in the Rocky Mountains and the temperature hovered just above freezing. As we crested the ridge above the city thick clouds rolled overhead and our target came into view below. “I wonder if we’ll have enough time to do this?” Josh quipped. Not long after it started to sleet.

  3. GM to merge myChevrolet and OnStar RemoteLink

    Teaser Paragraph:

    12/18/2015
Do you use one of GM's Apps to connect with your truck? If so, you should know that at the upcoming 2016 Consumer Electronics Show GM will announce a new App that will merge myChevrolet and OnStar RemoteLink. The idea is that the new app will be more customizable by users. GM says the new system will offer "mobile access to roadside assistance, parking reminders, owner’s manual content, vehicle diagnostics, Wi-Fi® hotspot management and key fob commands such as remote start and door unlock." Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet marketing expanded on that, saying, “The myChevrolet app will be the most comprehensive vehicle app available – and will support the ownership experience over the life of the vehicle. By integrating OnStar RemoteLink features into the myChevrolet app, we’re creating a one-stop-app for owners to manage their vehicle with one user profile and unified log-in.”

  4. GM Trucks Just Closed the Resale Value Gap - The Numbers

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    12/16/2015
The Toyota Tacoma is still the top-rated vehicle of all in resale value according to KBB. The truck deserves praise for that and it gets it in spades from the auto media. However, look closely at this year's KBB Top Ten vehicles list and what jumps out is that the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon are now within 2% of the Tacoma. The Taco has a three-year retained value of 72.9%. The GMC Canyon is at 70.7% and the Chevy Colorado is rated at 70%. There is more to it than just that.

  5. Google: Chevy Malibu and Silverado Top Searches 2015

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham

    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    12/17/2015
OK Ted II fans, we all know what the number one most searched term really was. That out of the away, Chevrolet is proud to announce that the Chevy Malibu and Silverado topped the vehicle searches for 2015. This is no surprise for the folks in our industry. We know what people want to read, and we try to deliver on those topics. Suffice it to say that a story about a new Silverado color will do waaay better than a story about an EV getting two more miles of range.

  6. GM Takes 2 Wards' Top 10 Engine Awards - Nope, Not Duramax

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    12/15/2015
General Motors has scored two "Top Ten Engines" awards from WardsAuto. The first is a favorite of this writer, the 3.6-liter V6 found in the all-new Chevrolet Camaro. The 3.6-liter, normally aspirated engine has been around a while, but it has improved like a fine wine. Drew Winter, director, Content at WardsAuto said of the engine, “The 3.6 delivers the kind of power (335 hp) and lusty exhaust note you associate with a V-8 for the price of a V-6. Plus, it’s loaded with advanced technology, including fuel-saving cylinder deactivation.” Personally, I like it because it offers great power, torque and fuel economy and does not have a turbocharger. Even better, the specs you see, and the fuel economy numbers posted by EPA, all use regular unleaded as the fuel.

  7. What Goes "Whump...Whump...Whump" and Makes Trucks?

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    12/10/2015
A few years back doing a story on clean energy I was surprised to learn that Texas was the leader in North America in terms of wind power production. So I was not very surprised to learn that General Motors is planning to use wind-generated electricity to partly power its Arlington, TX plant. The Arlington plant, located in a suburb of Dallas, makes 'Burbans, Escalades, and Yukons.

As if there are presses anymore! Anyway, the story we did just two months ago about Chevy's top crate engine, is now obsolete. The ZZ6 will take a back-seat to the Corvette's 650 hp LT4, which you can now buy to power your sleigh.

  10. Name a Better LuxTruck Than the '16 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 1 2

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/17/2015
GM calls luxury trucks "a growing niche." That is a vast understatement. The basic equipment in a mid-priced full-sized truck now rivals most luxury cars for content. At GMC, the Denali trim is always the top-spec truck. Until now. GMC's new Denali Ultimate Sierra has just raised the bar higher.

  11. Silverado Special Ops

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/03/2015
Chevrolet' Silverado Special Ops concept at SEMA starts with the 1500 Z71. The unusual paint scheme is called Razzle Dazzle and was designed 100 years ago by the Navy to help keep ships away from prying eyes. Todd Parker, director of design, Chevrolet Accessories pointed out how the paint makes the Silverado look even tougher than it normally does, saying, “We created light, medium and darker shaded areas within camouflage bands flowing down the hood, body sides and tailgate. That effect gives tremendous depth to the Silverado’s body, while reinforcing the nautical heritage of the unique camo design.”

The cars of the Sopranos were all well cast, but Tony's 2003 white Cadillac Escalade was perfect. This car was one of two identical cars used it he series' last three seasons. James Gandolfini, who has now passed away, signed the vehicle prominently in three places with a Sharpie including on the back of the driver's seat headrest. Boston-based, RR Auction reports it just sold for $119,780. We've attached a clip of the car in one of its most memorable scenes. Be forewarned the language is a little more vulgar than PG-13. Enjoy

A restored Chevy truck. The sick teen named Jacob says he is "into older trucks." He had been checking out one in a neighbor's yard that was for sale.

  17. Chevy Camaro & Colorado Motor Trend Car & Truck of the Year

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    11/17/2015
GM's Chevrolet division has two new awards for the trophy case. First, the 2016 Chevy Colorado is the Motor Trend Truck of the Year. This is the second consecutive win for the Colorado. Reading over the very detailed Motor Trend story accompanying the award announcement, it is clear that it was the Duramax diesel engine option that pushed the Colorado to the win again this year. One Motor Trend Editor summed up the Duramax nicely, saying, “That it can tow 7,600 pounds and is averaging 24 mpg after two loops of mixed driving speaks volumes about this engine. Further, the diesel smooths out the shifts of the transmission and essentially gives it less work to do, as the gearbox doesn’t need to hunt to get the truck going—the massive torque curve has got that covered. Why you’d buy any other engine in this truck is beyond me.”

Without further ado, here are the numbers, and they apply to both trucks. These numbers are per the EPA, which scrutinized the trucks for emissions compliance before granting approval.

    Teaser Paragraph:

SEMA is a time for putting on the full bling. The show is about after market accessories, and as of late, accessories direct form the automakers. The thing we like most about the Chevy Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 Concept is that it is basically the actual truck you can buy or order from a Chevy dealer starting this Fall.

The Chevy trucks at SEMA have been a hit with the forum members, so we are offering up a quick peek at some of what the competition brought this year. First up is the great-looking Ram Rebel X. Mopar wheel flares and 17-inch cast-aluminum beadlock wheels with 35-inch Toyo tires give the truck a tough look. Of course the Rebel packs a 5.7-liter HEMI engine. Added go-fast bits include a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, and a Ram Air duct.

  23. Still No EPA MPG Info On GM Diesels - Cause For Concern?

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/20/2015
As of the posting of this short topict, GM's Colorado and Canyon Duramax diesel trucks have not been listed on www.fueleconomy.gov. The site is run by the EPA. Every vehicle in America needs to have its mileage approved by EPA prior to sale. Once approved, the numbers are quickly loaded to the site. GM told GM-Trucks.com directly a few weeks back that all was on track for an October sales release. That is starting look doubtful with just 7 working days left in the month.

  25. Car and Driver Picks Colorado over 2016 Tacoma

    Teaser Paragraph:

    John Goreham
    Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com
    10/10/2015
Sure Car and Driver's focus is not trucks, but they know a lot more about trucks than most. They always have a large SUV or truck in the fleet to tow cars and they also use them as photo and logistics vehicles on their shoots. In the just-released November 2015 issue* CD compares the new Tacoma and the Colorado in great detail. Their driving covered almost 2,000 miles and the trucks they compared were high-end models with the V6 engines and 4WD. The Colorado was $38,720 and the Tacoma $37,665 as-tested.
