The 2025 Equinox is barely getting settled into driveways, but we’ve already dug up some fleet order details detailing major changes for the upcoming 2027 model year. While the sheet metal isn't changing, the mechanical and packaging updates underneath are already sparking a massive debate over in our Facebook group, and I wanted to bring the conversation here to the forum.

	Here’s the TL;DR of what’s coming for 2027:

The CVT is Officially Dead: Chevy is dropping the CVT entirely. FWD models will now get the exact same 8-speed automatic as the AWD models. (Though as many of you 1.5L AWD owners have already pointed out, getting that 8-speed to actually shift into 8th gear at highway speeds is a whole other conversation...)

RIP Cacti Green: The polarizing Cacti Green is being deleted from the order guide, making way for a new color called "Autumn Harvest Metallic."

Tech & Interior Tweaks: Connected Cameras are finally coming to the Safety and Technology Package, and the RS trim is dropping the Santorini Blue stitching to go exclusively Torch Red.

You can read my full breakdown of the changes and why current owners are divided over on the homepage here:
https://www.gm-trucks.com/2027-chevy-equinox-changes-cvt-deleted-8-speed-standard/

I want to hear from you guys: Are you early FWD adopters feeling frustrated by the CVT being dropped so quickly, or are the AWD owners right about the 8-speed acting more like a 7-speed on the highway?
