Ordered a 2024 RST.. WHAT DOES IT MEAN...
dieselfan1 replied to Badbird2000's topic in 2019-2025 Silverado & Sierra
BTW I payed almost sticker price for the new truck. Some dealers were charging 5G over sticker at that time. The dealer fixed the oil cooler line filled it with oil and told me it was fixed. They sold it 3 days later to some poor fool. This is why I don't buy used. -

Well, I've done both the MAP and MAF Sensors and still have the same issue. Any other ideas are appreciated. -

Last year on our trip to Maine towing our TT through PA, it was the highest at 3.99 a gallon, and their roads were the worst I've driven on in a long time. Even Maine roads were better and they are nothing to brag about. WTH??

Still near $4 here and Whiting has been online for weeks now.

OCI, not when but why?

How about PAO vs Group III low temperature performance? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOUR ENGINE? You may already know that most engine wear occurs at start-up, at the moment when the moving parts need to start moving while the oil is not yet pumping. Up to 75% of wear, over the lifetime of an engine, is attributable to this start-up phase. Here we are talking about so-called boundary lubrication. The crankshaft and camshaft(s) are normally kept 'floating' by the accumulated lubrication film when the shafts are running, but when the engine is off, they 'sink' down and rest on the bearings. The moment the engine is started, there is metal-to-metal contact. This is obviously only brief, usually not even half a revolution of the axle before a lubricating film is built up, but it does contribute to wear. Research has shown that a car equipped with a Start-Stop system starts its engine as much as 3 times more often than a car without such a system. Start-Stop system: does it really wear out your engine components? (eurol.com) -

We were in Alex city Alabama last weekend. I saw 2 places that had it for 2.99 but most were 3.09. Here in the Atlanta metro area it is all over the place. Anywhere from 3.29 to 3.49. Our camping trip towing our TT to Maine from Atlanta this coming August is going to hurt a bit. It's usually a 3k to 3300 miles round trip getting around 9mpg.....ouch...lol...

Thanks 'Dude! -
I just installed new Sumitomo AT tires a few weeks ago. Did a 500 mile roadtrip, pretty pleased with the quiet smooth ride. If you're looking for an AT tire, these are tied with BFG KO and Toyo AT3 for best in category on Tire Rack. They're significantly cheaper. I got my 265/70/18s for $171 each, plus shipping, from Discount Tire Zone. All-in price was $768 delivered. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/sumitomo-encounter-at It's a Japanese company that also includes Dunlop & Falken. My tires were manufactured in Thailand.

I have a 2500 RAM company truck that came new with Nexens and I got 60k out of them before replacing as they began to suck on wet roads. I went with the Cooper AT3's and now have 25k on them so far and I like them other than rocks that get stuck between the treads once getting back on paved roads. I'm on caliche base road beds fairly often.

What are you trying to do? Did you remove the center jump seat and install a full center console into a truck that did not come equipped with the console from the factory?

Well guys, I’m back at doing mods to a GM truck. I went with ford for a couple years really didn’t wanted to mess with my gmc since it was perfectly fine how it was. Well the new 2024 exterior refresh came out and caught my attention and so I decided it was time update it. It is not for everyone, so people go this way some people just trade it in and both are perfectly fine so if it’s not for you don’t sweat it . Here is my progress far.

High Oil Pressure / Misfire
Bentley replied to Bentley's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
asilverblazer: Yeah, so when cold there is a spike that happens about a minute after idle. This sets off the engine light blinking, and immediately causes misfire. I will shut engine off and restart. Repeat above, until engine warms up. As the engine heats, the oil thins and the spike stays low enough to not trigger the engine light blinking. After warmup, the pressure is about 1 - 2 o'clock at about 2500 rpm (275 kpa is 12 o'clock which I think is normal) -

Console swap help!! The data cable that is connected to the console, when I plug it into the back of my type c/USB port. It causes the dash screen to turn off and not come on. I have to unplug it and unhook battery and then hook back up in order for it to come back on. So I tired unhooking the battery and hooking data cable back up. Same thing no dash screen. Pic is attached showing cable Any ideas??
