Yesterday I spoke to the COO of Ibiquity (the HD radio people) in Detroit. He gave me to the gentleman that is the direct contact guy with GM. He is as angry as we are. First because he knows about the problems and he knows GM is not acting quickly enough to make this right. He knows this is hurting the HD brand. He believes the severity of this problem is vehicle specific, Sierra and Silverado. The problem is that once GM officially acknowledges this (or other problems) it becomes a matter of public record. Then the floodgates open and it costs them money. If they continue to tell people this is the way it is supposed to be many will accept that and go away. He says they will continue to press GM on this matter. He was appalled when I told him of the one dealers idea of a solution was to turn down the sound settings so the in and out reception would not be as noticeable. Meanwhile he says about all we can do is to continue to complain to the dealers. When the people there get tired of the complaints and telling customers there is nothing wrong, maybe they will start pressing the higher ups for a fix. If you got lucky and have one that works, great. If you got one that does not work as designed please continue to press the dealers for a fix. He also offered that if any one with a problem with HD lives near the Detroit offices they would like to see this first hand in your trucks, this could better help them with R&D. You can see the address for that office on the Ibiquity home page. Please be nice to them they are trying to help us.2 points

My boyfriend has a 1999 Chevy Silverado and recently got new tires and rims. They are missing the center caps and I want to get him some. My question is how do I find the right ones? They have 6 lug nuts that are threaded. I know they are GM, and I bought some caps off the same truck but the lugs on the caps were too short. Is there an easy way to determine which ones I need? Trying to be a good girlfriend and surprise him but not knowing about trucks I am just clueless. Any help would be appreciated! Oh the tires are 16's if that makes a difference.1 point

Years ago I used to drive a 1976 Chevy Blazer with a 350 motor with 4 barrel carb, 3 speed auto, AM radio, and heater. The original MSRP was $ 6,800. This was the best off road vehicle I ever drove. Took me through mud in West Virginia moutains that few vehicles could get through. No air conditioning, no power windows, no power locks, no remote keyless entry, no power seats, no heated and cooled seats, no heated steering wheel, no navigation, no power sunroof, no backup camera, no power rear window, no oversized chrome plated alloy wheels, no leather seats, no carpeting. How on earth did I manage to even drive something like that? Without a heated leather wrapped steering wheel?1 point

I will say one thing. I'm hating the yellow headlight bulbs. I can't wait to replace them with with some mirror white halogens1 point

5.3 motor. New truck. I've had it about 2 weeks. Its pretty much fully loaded.(also has trailer brake controller) Only options I didn't get were 6.2 and moon roof. They wouldn't move on the Denalis much, otherwise I would have gone that route. I prefer the carbon fiber interior more than the wood though,.1 point

Mine had the exact same issue. Faulty seal around the antenna base. Too bad the dealership looked at me like I was retarded when I told them where the leak was and it wasn't just the sunroof. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk1 point

Installed an Extang Solid Fold tonneau cover. Impressed with the looks, quality, and simple design. I'll post a how to and full review in a separate post. Yes it was cold!1 point

I'd be very careful with roof leaks.. I know some guy who bought a brand new Acadia Denali and 2 months later the sunroof started leaking and it rained and the whole electrical system somehow fried... GM replaced the vehicle with a brand new one1 point

I installed my driver assist handle yesterday. It looks fantastic. The total cost, out the door, was $47.21. I also had the painted to match GM mud flaps installed. They too, look great. especially with the painted to match fender well moldings. I can honestly say, my Denali has taken on a new personality. I don't know, maybe it's just my OCD coming out, but I think the "driver assist handle" helps to balance the interior. With handles on the other three doors, it was like there was something missing. I would never have thought of it, had it not been for this forum. My wife is constantly telling me the forum is costing us a lot. I love it!1 point

if you have an instagram account go check out Arkansascustoms page. Thats where I got the LED bar behind the grille idea. The pic was taken about 7 weeks ago btw. The only difference from their build to mine will be that they used a rigid industries bar, imma use a more cost effective bar lol. Don't want to have to buy a larger wallet to be able to collect all the money I would need for rigid industries 40 inch $800+ bar. Truxtech.com has them for $355 and they use Cree LEDs as well. Also from Truxtech are the AUX reverse lights I'm thinking of getting. Imma get the pair of LED pods that have 2x10W LEDs in them. Totaling over 4,000 lumens. I'll be able to use them for work and for backing up the truck in the darkest of places.1 point

That or someone would think you have to hammer the nail into the seatpost....never underestimate the power of stupidity.1 point

The 6.2 power is pretty cool for a pickup. I love being able to stream Pandora via bluetooth from my phone. I love how quiet it is even after I upgraded the tires to something more aggressive. The camper mirrors, integrated brake control and backup camera will come in handy when towing my trailer. no more kicking the low mounted brake controller when getting in and out. The seating position and ergonomics with the tilt/telescopic wheel are really well laid out. Craig1 point

Got an update from the dealer today. The dealer has agreed they should be working. GM told them that they can be replaced if it will satisfy the customer. They said if it is for customer satisfaction, they should. However, the dealer has to get approval from the regional rep before ordering the new modules. They are awaiting a response. Once that's done, I'll know where I stand. I have to give kudos to the dealer, they are doing all they can. That being said, I can't say I expect them to foot the bill without some kind of reimbursement from GM if the rep decides against it.1 point

Ok... First things first, thank your for the right up, I have never even heard of that exhaust system, I'll have to look it up. Could you post a sound clip? Second, there was a couple things that I couldn't get past, mostly because it struck me as funny. I'm assuming you own a new 2014 GM truck... I have nothing else to add. Let me speak on behalf of all Harley Owners and you can quote me on this... There hasn't been nor will there ever be a V4 DRONE that sounds "Harley-like" , I just wanted to clear that up, unless by Harley-Like you actually mean "Honda Civic with a piece of stove pipe hanging out the back - like. Fabtech 4" lift, 295/60/20 trail grapplers on 20" BMF REPR's and debadged, still debating on replacing the chrome window sill trim with black and maybe mirror caps too, I'm gonna leave the handles chrome. I'm also painting the fender plastic pieces to match.1 point

Don't know about anyone else but I'd rather have a 6.2 then a supercharged 5.3.. No replacement for displacement...imo1 point

4 inch oval with a bend on both ends, foot fits good on them, 5 inch would be just about perfect. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk1 point

Sort of. The presence of a tune won't automatically void coverage but it will make things difficult as you'll need to be able to prove a non-factory calibration didn't cause damage. The truck does have the means to tell his many times it's been flashed so even going back to stock won't cover your tune/mod.1 point

Installed the craven stubby antenna. Didn't realize it was smaller than a pen. Close to 4 inches. Reception not affected. Good 20 dollar mod.1 point

My truck is a 2014 Silverado and was a demo with 5k miles when I purchased at the end of December. The drivers seat feels as if there is a spring or something moving when you go around a sharp turn such as exit ramp. It then moves back the opposite direction once you complete the turn. Not sure what's up with it but the dealer acts like they can't find anything wrong with it. Very frustrating to say the least. If anyone figures out what's going on please let us all know. Thanks.1 point

as you can see in the picture I posted, mine doesn't have it either, and mine doesn't have backlight around radio knobs either. So feel lucky that you at least have those. :-)1 point
