  5. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 7/15/2015 In its recent review of the 2015 Chevy Colorado Consumer Reports said about the Colorado "We really, really want to like this truck. We just can’t." In the review, CR points out many positive aspects of the Colorado including: - Being the most maneuverable truck in the segment - Its size makes parking a snap - Tows more than the Frontier or Tacoma - Fuel economy "is tops." - Has a quiet cabin that easy to get into - Offers the best active safety equipment in the segment - Smooth and silent tailgate operation - Corner Step bumper So why can't Consumer Reports say it likes the Colorado? CR didn't like the truck-like ride. They also don't like the Tacoma's ride or the Frontier's ride, calling them "...akin to choosing between poison ivy and wasps on a 10-mile hike." At this point in Consumer Reports review, we begin to wonder why a tester who does not like any of the vehicles in the entire segment is reviewing the Colorado. The group also didn't like the price of the Colorado ($34,300). What do they think a V6 4X4 vehicle that seats five costs these days? And finally, CR called out the Colorado for an uncomfortable seat that had a bottom cushion "that didn't adjust for tilt" and a telescoping steering wheel that didn't telescope out far enough. If CR's testers love the silky smooth ride of a Prius with a power seat, why not just stick to that, and leave the truck reporting to people that understand how trucks are evaluated? Consumer Reports' full review of the Colorado can be found here. Tell us below what you think of the review.

  11. Window tint, front and back. Worlds of difference with the heat blocking in our Texas summer. My arm isn't burning when it's up on the door and the truck has remained cooler after leaving it in a parking lot for a period of time.

  17. I can't believe anyone even reads Consumer Reports. They have always had and continue to push their agendas.

  18. Who buys a Colorado or a taco expecting a very smooth ride anyway? I'm sure they are blowing it out of proportion... If the ride wasn't good maybe that would of affected it winning MT's truck of the year. And we would Probably start to see some posts pop up on the forum about a rough ride..

  23. Their testers are all yuppies from the NYC area and suburban Connecticut. I'd bet you anything none of them have ever known anyone with a camper, horses, boat, etc. And they're obviously not gear heads either. You can't analyze a vehicle, especially a lifestyle vehicle like a midsize truck with the same facts only analysis you test a clothes dryer with.

  24. That tester needs to come and ride in the wife's Jeep for a few hours. THOSE are uncomfortable...the only truly "uncomfortable" GM seats I've ever sat in were because they were worn out with age/use.

  25. Yeah I still remember that video of some of their "testers" talking about how useless fullsize SUVs are... They don't live in the real world.

  27. Just got back from Colorado and the last few days we drove out to Glenwood Springs and had the privilege of driving through Glenwood Canyon. And while we were camping, my new Backflip cover was a life saver more than once. And the goods Just drove it over 2000 miles in the past week so I've gotten very personal with my truck. Overall I'm very satisfied with everything, real glad I had the vibration issue resolved a week before I headed out. The truck was a little down on power at that altitude, enough for me to tell a difference but it was never an issue. Fuel milage was great nearly averaging 20mpg for the entire trip. By far my two favorite features I fell in love with was the active grade braking, which sounds f'ing amazing with the magnaflow muffler, and being able to control Pandora through the 8" info screen. Made thumbing songs way easier.

  35. Hello All, Just started checking this site out after purchasing my new truck a week ago... Lots of good info here, thank you. Lots of money spent already on aftermarket... remember this rabbit hole from my Gen4 FBody days .... ha Picture of the truck... already have a few mods on it... AirRaid MIT / KN Filter. Line-X just got sprayed today. AMP Power Steps, BakFlip F1, Corsa Catback, Husky Mats, Front/Rear Bilstein 5100s to level her out , Elite Catch Can, Bull Rings. ( inbound ) I must say it is a good thing I didnt check this forum before I bought my truck, lots of talk of vibrations and shaking, lemon law, and buyback talk... would have put me off buying. So far everything is great ( first 500 anyways ). I will agree that the transmission / throttle response on the 5.3L/6spd is blah compared to my 2010 Dodge, but I disconnected the battery after reading about the learning the transmission does... seemed to help , i did baby the truck off the lot for sure. All in all a way better truck in quality, ride, features, and looks. Thanks for all the info... looking forward to adding to the forum.

  40. Yeah, they are adequate for driving around town, but try them going 80 MPH down the interstate in Wyoming at night, miles from any town. Where the deer and the antelope play! It can get kind of scary going around curves, when your lights have tunnel vision. I live in the country, where it is pitch black at night, with lots of deer. GM can do better.
