  1. Hill descent is the reason I went with Z71 (used on ice/snow with great success). Shocks and skid plates are a super easy bolt on

  2. Woke up to a new set off gm tow mirrors for Christmas bless my wife and daughters. Mirrors are 23351786k and 23351802k. Truck is a 2016 2500hd Silverado LT midnight edition with crewcab. Checking in to see what if anything is needed to replace my standard heat and power adjust non tow mirrors with these new ones. If anymore info is needed to determine what might be needed let me know. Thanks in advance for any help and merry Christmas and happy new year

  4. I don't care what anyone says. I can tell a big difference between running 87 and premium. Everything from idle to power and fuel mileage. On the other hand, I can't tell the difference between plus and premium so I just run plus most of the time. People also have to remember that higher octane fuel will decrease the deposits that will inevitably build up around our intake valves. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk

  5. Very interesting video on premium vs regular fuel. Looks like there’s a reason the 6.2 recommends 91 octane.

  6. The dealership, if you are lucky, will do whatever they feel is needed. But, it's ultimately not their problem and getting tough with them will not stand you in good stead.

  7. Phil, do you have use for dl3 mirrors and harnesses? I see the 40 dollar credit but what about used mirrors, I’m looking to upgrade to tow mirrors after finding this thread i didn’t realize how expensive this upgrade got

  8. Thank you for the info just took the player down and reversed the cable as in the previous post and it’s working again. If you are the least bit mechanically inclined it’s an easy fix. Less than 30 mins. Thanks again kept me from being overcharged by GM.

  10. Im in the same boat Jay. Luckily I am keeping things on the truck to just small things that aren't over the top but you notice them and they make the truck seem just a step above. The sidestep lights look great at night and surprisingly I never see it here. I used el wire that matches the blue console lights in my side pockets so it's just a glow in the pockets vs full on LED lights. Everyone that gets in the truck at night notices them. Once I get the footwell and rear console cubby light finished I think I'm done on the inside except maybe adding lights to the back door handles to match the front.

  13. Hey all, Been on the forums for a while now, just now getting around to being a little more useful to the community. I purchased a 2017 Silverado Double Cab 5.3 back in August, mainly to haul a trailer that a local TT shop told me could be hauled by an Acadia (The fault is my own for not doing my due diligence). Love the truck so far, finding that there is no shortage of cool things to put on it! Anyway, a pic of my happy place!

  14. Yea I’m not sure of my routing or grounding yet either. Your gonna dual purpose them I didn’t think about doing that lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Hey did you make the harness yet? I still gotta find the best way to run it along the factory wiring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. AhHaaa! A picture is worth 1,000 words. I was looking for a more square hole facing down, didn't realize the mounting tab was on the side I figured it either top or bottom mounted. Thanks alot, ordering the lights and harnesses now. I already have LED's that I was in the process of creating a circuit to make the bright when dome light comes on then dim down when dome light goes off. This saves me the headache of building the dual brightness circuit.

  17. We've borrowed a truck/trailer combo for several years, which worked well but didn't really ever allow us to make it completely our own. We have been out several times with this and intend to do some serious trailering in the upcoming years!

  19. Absolutely! I am the same way. As the old adage goes, plan for the worst and hope for the best! As a side note, one day I calculated how much I have paid to my car insurance company over my driving career - it’s to the tune of about $40,000+ minimum, WITH ZERO CLAIMS EVER. Makes me sick - but that’s how insurance works. The least they could do is help you in a situation like this! Hell my deductible should be $0. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. GM has apparently instructed them not to replace them any more because so many are defective. So now they just fill them with grease. Smart.

  22. Morimoto makes a plug and play 35 watt hid that works fantastic in the headlight. I have them and love them. They have a fog light upgrade but I don't have fogs so I don't care haha.

  23. Since 2015? um my 2010 had/has noisey rear springs. Had them replaced under warranty. Glad to see they are consistant and this issue hasnt changed.
    1 point
  24. Mine started before my first oil change. My brand new truck sounds like and old POS. The analyst said it would cost less to destroy the Silverado name over some lousy springs than to fix the issue. The service manager told me there was nothing he could do and he also thinks the grease is stupid. I asked him to put some Toyota springs under it. He didn't laugh...... Neither did I.... I have been a GM guy my whole life. He said probably 75% of the springs in the 2015-2018 Silverados squeak. These springs make me hate this truck.

  25. Merry Christmas. pretty funny snake eye, but if one might have been offended, then maybe dont open the topic titled as this one....I’m pretty convinced some WANT to be offended. But a seasonal Christian greeting thread is about to turn into a rant, so... thanks folks. Enjoy your families and your trucks. And remember why we celebrate...

  26. My Aveo is a perfect example of this throwaway culture; because as of right now, it’s only worth $3,500-$4,000 according to KBB, and if my transmission were to kick the bucket the car would only be worth scrap value because a transmission from GM costs more than what the rest of the car is worth. (And the engine is just as costly; which is why I NEVER see an LXV engine at a salvage yard) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  27. My Huskys are a softer, more pliable heavy rubber that feels good under foot. My friend’s WT are non-pliable and feel slippery under foot. But they do spend tons on advertising though, if that counts for anything.

  28. Please post pics when you're finished if you don't mind. I searched all over for something to go in a double cap that would give me a sub enclosure AND storage but came up empty. You can get dual subs or you can get storage that spans the entire back seat but not half and half. I ended up building my own - something I haven't done before. The box turned out great and I'm happy with the sub's performance. The carpet (I also couldn't find any brown that matched the cocoa/dune interior so I just went with gray) looks a little sloppy but you can't really see it once the box is installed.

  30. Should be HID and adding LED fog bulbs with the fog mode so they come on with brights makes it great...now if I can just keep the headlight beams from shaking on large bumps...

  34. Well guys, after driving nothing but Silverados for over 20 years I just couldnt go on with the love/hate relationship I have had with my last three 2014's. I was gonna' try and stick it out and buy a 2019 when they come out but fear it would be just more of the same. Such a shame because this was the first forum that I had ever joined and I really learned a lot and also got to help a lot guys and gals with help when I could. What a great comunity of people. I'm shure I will check back in later. So...... for the good news. I traded the Z71 for a 2018 DURANGO R/T BRASS MONKEY AWD with the 5.7 Hemi V8. Cannot belive the crisp, snappy performance of this thing! No AWD burnouts yet. Gonna' break it in a little first. This is actually the first truck I've ever bought off the show room floor, it was only off the truck for a few days and was talk of the dealership along with a new Hellcat parked right next to it. I have to say, I am VERY impressed with the fit, finish, and performance. Some of the features, three row Katskin leather with R/T logo, AWD, 10 speaker Beats sound, and about every other option other than a sun roof. I will try to post a few pics below. I do have to say that Chrystler/Dodge gave me over 5,000 bucks more for my trade in than any one else. Just sayin' in case anyone else wants to come to the Dark Side.lol

  35. wow this is the best iPad integration with the stock system i have seen.great job..... now if you wanted to take this to the next level.Would be to remove the factory screen completely and use the iPad for both.so on the iPad you could switch between factory touch screen setting and then back to the standard iPad functions.Or would this be hard to do? Also the your system would work great with GM's 4G data plan.if you like stream a lot of video

  36. Over 3500 rpms the oil pressure should be around 60 psi. Cold idle should be 40, warm idle 20-30, and should raise to 40 while driving under 3500 rpms. If if you’re stuck at 20, go to the dealer ASAP. Assume it’s a problem and get it fixed.

  37. New to the forum, 2015 Sierra All Terrain. Love the iridium color!

  38. mrbadwrench, you say you've never seen it dip below 40 and now it sits at 20 at any rpm which in my opinion is not normal, 20 psi might be normal at a hot idle but you should see the psi's pick up with rpm. I would suspect a faulty gauge or oil pressure sending unit, verify with a mechanical gauge.

  39. Well, It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in since buying the ‘Rango. I REALLY love driving this thing and the transmission in sport mode is fantastic. But like I stated I have kept my fingers crossed hoping the ‘19 twins would be a better truck..... until I saw that stunt with the helicopter dropping in the new Silverado. Finally we get some round wheel wells and the rest of the truck is about as sexy as an ass full of poison ivy.? They should have dropped it from 500 feet up. This will be the first new Silverado that I will be taking a pass on since I can remember. It just looks....”desperate” RIP to my 2014 Z71. I loved the look, just too bad it was a lemon half the time. DAMN!!! It pisses me off . I really wanted a new Chevy. But that front end treatment kinda like the Tahoe that juts out just ruins it for me. I’m shure some will love it regardless. Now I’m torn between the new Ram or adding a SRT Hellcat to satisfy my mid life crisis. Definitely disappointed GM. Maybe next time. Until then, try hiring some new designers. Please!

  40. I have a pair of brand new RETRAX wide rails. If you have a retrax cover and have the standard rails, this is the upgrade that provides full coverage over the bed side. They look better and makes the cover look complete In my opinion. These will work for Retrax one or Retrax Pro I paid 377 for them shipped. I got a different truck and never installed these i will sell for 250 shipped lower 48 states.

  41. Around here, premium is roughly +10% more than plus, which doesn’t meet the cost threshold. That said, add in the very obvious performance hit, and it’s a no brainer for me.

  44. Thank you STKR, but I looked all over and tried to even use a "fox and hound" but I cant find that J302 that I need to access. I think my next best bet would be to go to the dealer and see if the service writers might have a clue. They sure pack stuff tight in these modern trucks ;-)

  45. Nope, it’s the same knuckle. The 6” kit basically just adds 2” to the 4” kit. With bds, it’s a longer strut, with Zone it’s a larger spacer I’ve had 3 BDS kits and 2 Zone. On my previous tuck i converted from the 4.5 to the 6.5 kit, and all it was was struts/blocks. 2017 Chevy Silverado LTZ Z71 6.2L 4.5" Zone 22x10 American Force Grips 33x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers Instagram @wildchevys

  46. Lucky to be able to tag along with little brother who drew one of five tags for a bull moose in the area we hunt on his SECOND try! These two old curmudgeons had their hand full for seven hours until we got the last of it back to camp! I will say though that his Ford F150 couldn't handle the moose and his travel trailer so we unhooked put the ATV and trailer on his and I towed his trailer home for him.

  47. Nope just a horrible leveling kit that over extends the shit out of everything, wait until he sees his CV angles or better yet pops the CV shaft or ball joint. Yes 35's will fit, several leveled trucks on 35's. Think twice before installing the crap leveling kit, while you may hate me for busting your balls think of the safety factor when the ball joint pops going 70mph on the highway with your family in the truck. There is a correct way to stuff 35's on the truck and make them clear while keeping it safe and not destroying the truck, ride, safety.
