  3. Guess I'll add mine. Nothing special, but I love it. Lost my tail on the P.O.S. RST I had for a month with the 5.3, but I'm glad I have this one. At least it doesn't vibrate and feel like a cell phone vibrating in the center console every time its between 1200-1500 RPMs

  4. I settled on a new GMC over a used one. I got a 2018 leftover for a pretty good price. it's a 5.3 with the 8 speed and 3.42 rear all the options I could want except max-tow but I don't have much of a need for it so i pulled the trigger. What a great truck. I might want to upgrade my power folding mirrors to power folding tow mirrors but they are pricey and i don't want anymore chrome on this thing. First thing I want is a cap on it for my dogs in the bed.

  5. Just purchased my 2019 High Country. Added the 6.2L Cat-Back Dual-Exit Exhaust System Upgrade and the 6.2L Cold Air Intake Upgrade. It sounds awesome now and really gets up and goes now with the added horsepower. Tinting the windows in the next couple of weeks. Tire upgrade and life probably in the next 6 months. Love this truck so far.

  6. I hate to see people pointlessly destroy equipment. What a shame, I bet there are at least a dozen young guys on this forum that would work themselves ragged for that truck, and treat it like it was the most important thing they’d ever seen.

  7. Took a 250 mile round trip run to Central Wisconsin today to pickup some countertops for a job . Tried to see what I could get for gas mileage and was pretty impressed. All interstate 70 mph. 2018 Crew cab 6.5' bed 5.3 6 speed 3.42 Took this picture about halfway there. I averaged 23.7 for the round trip. It should get a little better with the Borla S type exhaust I'm installing in the next few days. And more miles to get it fully broke in. Around 10,000 miles my other 2018 Silverado started getting better mileage. These trucks get pretty decent gas mileage if you keep your foot out of the firewall .

  8. There are a few things that come to mind here 1. Leaf springs on the pickup, coils on the Avalanche, coils are going to ride much nicer 2. Avalanche is heavier, going to ride smoother 3. Z71 suspension is gong to ride worse, stiffer. 4. You had a loaded avalanche, you didn’t buy a loaded pickup, you lost options, not the trucks fault.

  9. Hey guys - just wanted to let you know that Eibach has 10% off these kits between now and April 15th. I just ordered mine from Summit Racing. They had the 10%, and if you type in ALWAYS at the promotion code area - there is another $50 discount. Shipped to the house for $509! It is back-ordered and they don't expect shipment until the end of April, but the deal is fantastic. Regards,

  11. The right price is the price someone is willing to pay. If a potential buyer likes the truck they may pay $33 K. Pick a price and list it. If you get little interest lower the price.

  12. Just got mine finished up over the weekend. Really like the way it turned out. - 20x9 Hollander snowflake +24mm wheels - 285/60 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires - 1" wheel spacers - 1.5" MotoFab leveling kit No trimming. No rub.

  13. Thanks for the pic SnakeEyeSS. He still runs well, so I'm not too worried about it. May change the plugs with my next tire rotation, seeing as I'll have the wheels off (thinking access through the wheel wells will be a CINCH!). Belts were easy, the AC and Vacuum belts came with installation tools that made life much easier. Tensioner was also a quick and easy R&R. Everything is nice and quiet again. So glad salt is such a rare occurrence out here. The frame rails look remarkably decent for nearly 3 years on the road. That being said, I have more Amsoil HD metal protector coming from @Black02Silverado (THANK YOU NICK! He rules!). The first spraying worked wonders, so I'm excited to see what more coverage can help with.

  15. Just think about all of this crap today. Back in the day, a simple valve cover breather used to take care of everything. But that's against the law now. The more mankind 'progresses', the more we move backwards. Really torques me off that my truck doesn't run as well as it could because of oil in the intake, supposedly for air quality, when meanwhile over in India/Pakistan/China, etc., they're doing whatever the he11 they want and polluting more than we ever did. And the liberals driving our environmental laws have no problem flying everybody they know to the islands for vacations on the taxpayer dime.

  16. I have a 2018 Sierra 1500 as well, not lifted. I too hear noises from the driver side when my wife is driving. When I'm driving the noise comes from the passenger side. When I'm by myself I don't hear any noise. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

  18. Here is what I hope to special order for my retirement truck to myself. My 2011 Z71 has 192,000 miles and it has been a great friend and tool. 2019 LT Silverado, 4x4x, Crew Cab, Standard Box, 5.3, Max Trailer with 3.42, Silver Ice Metallic, Coco Dune bench seat, and all the Convenience Packages. I plan to add a brush guard, tool box, KO2 18” tires, and Amp Power Running Boards. Question: Any regrets owning the “new Silverado” with a similar configuration? Thanks!

  21. I NEVER made a payment to GM. Got my 4 or 5k in incentives (and a 7% rate!!) and refinanced about 2 weeks later with a credit union at 2.74%. I ended up not paying any payments at all for almost the first 3 months I had the truck. GM can kiss my ass with there 7% rate. And thats with an 805 credit score. But I should note, I didnt talk them down any on it as I knew I was refinancing asap.

  27. You’ll spend anywhere from 200 bucks to the sky is the limit (5k+) on this. I would suggest going and finding a twin to your truck in non Z71 form on a lot somewhere and test drive it with your girl and see what you guys think. Swapping the Ranchos is plenty easy and finding a set of new(er) take offs locally shouldn’t be a problem. Mines a 1/2 ton but I sold my factory loaded (loaded means with the springs) black struts/shocks with 3k miles on Craigslist for $150 when I swapped to my Pro Comp set up. In your case DO NOT BUY the Pro Comps she won’t like them for sure ?. I would guess a set of 3/4 ton take off shocks for all four corners would run you about the same? The Pro Comps where 600ish I’ll be doing Kings next on this truck and I’ll have well over 3g in this set up in parts alone just to give you an idea on prices. If if you do a coil over set up your not going to be adjusting them on the fly. Some companies like King do offer ones (upcharge of course) that have a dial on them you can turn by hand to adjust them. Otherwise you have to adjust them with a spanner wrench that comes with them but then your also adjusting the height so not really what you’re after. If you want to do adjustable air on all 4 corners your talking major bucks for a system worth a crap IMO. I did level “tuned” Blisteins on my 01 2500HD when I did new Congnito keys to level it and H2 wheels/new 10 ply tires. I did A TON of research before doing this cause I didn’t want a sh!t ride and IMO it rides nicer now than it did stock with the factory AC Delcos with 50k on them and crap Nittos. But it definitely ain’t nowhere as nice as my 1/2 ton was on the OEs but about the same as the Pro Comps maybe slightly better. So might be worth check those out in your case also. Check these guys out they have some good info on ride quality that might help explain some of this stuff you have questions about. http://www.filthymotorsports.com/default.asp

  30. Bags are fine. I haven't towed anything heavy with it lately but it does still work lol. I saw the auto level setup and honestly i don't think its worth the extra money. Once the trailers loaded and you pick your psi you want its very easy to bump it up 5-10psi if you think its being a little to bouncy.

  35. Little ball is likely from the gauge set where it connects to the shrader valve. Leak could be coming from anywhere. You will need a leak detector to find it, and that will require the system to be under pressure (filled). And if the system is bone dry, moisture is probably in the system. You will need a vacuum pump to remove the moisture

  36. good luck it's always hard to take the hit getting out of it. Oh you said LT so 5.3 out here (the west) there is an abundance of similar trucks ,plus with the mileage I would say high $20's to low $30's. The worst part is now it's 2 years old and it's a new body style year. Hard to ever get ahead with vehicles.

  37. All I have are Dirty pictures of mine. But im loving the truck. Way better over my 2017 WT. (I did love my 2017) But this one is just better in every way. Just wish it had a mechanical floor 4x4 shifter like my old one.

  38. I haven't tried looking for people on Skip, I understand you want to use the higher channels for that. In my work commute I drive a fairly long stretch of I-95, and there are a plethora of CBs running on channel 19 for traffic reports or the occasional report of a well-endowed female motorist. [emoji1787] An 18-wheeler hauling 2 backhoes had one of the booms up too high and it struck an overpass, creating a traffic nightmare. I knew about it well before Google maps did from the radio. 41. March 2019 numbers are in: 2017 26.24 mpg 2018 25.45 mpg 2019 27.01 mpg Since June 2018 the numbers have been "off the hook". Several things happened near that time. The JET 170 F thermostat failed and was replaced with the Stant 180 F in the IPSCO remote housing. Change of both oil grade and type from QSUD 5W20 to Red Line 0W20. And lastly multiple trans drop and fills with Red Line D6 along with thermostat delete. Diff has been Red Line 75W90 since about 50 K. Looking over all data and breaking out various periods and their listed modifications..... Getting fluids up to heat quicker has been HUGE. Lower cold temperature viscosity is HUGE. Actually peak tank numbers are only marginally higher. About 1 mpg but the frequency and easy of nailing a 30 mpg tank in warm weather has gone from a struggle to a given. Winter warmup rates are quick, predictable and repeatable. Nailing the water temp was more of a happenstance than a plan but I'll take it. Not much low hanging fruit left. Quicker warmup utilizing tank pre-heaters. Refinement of antifreeze percentages. Warmer trans stat with a minimum flow bypass. Tires. Improvement in oil flow rates. These things are heading the list. In other words I don't see the peak getting higher. I see the area under the curve getting fuller. This means the gear project is canceled...for now. Won't get back on the list until I can get some straight answers about the oiling system.

  42. Here are some pics of my RST. The lower bumper is from a LTZ or High Country and we simply painted the chrome portion summit white and reinstalled. It's still a work in progress (also dirty) and as you can see the lights are still missing. I had fast headlights remove the orange and replace with clear lenses. I will be doing a full build thread within the next 2 weeks. Lots of mods to share.

  45. I agree with this as well. If you're going to keep the stock size tires, then I would just crank the bars a little. Then, add some shock extensions and get the front end aligned...and be done. That's what I did, and I'm very pleased.

  47. I chose this for a couple of reasons. 1) I hate the AFM lifter issues commonly associated with this “fuel saving” technology. 2) I prefer the sound of my V8 vs it trying to be a V4 in sheep’s clothing. 3) I like that I can remove it for any dealer visit without it leaving a trail. 4) It allows me to utilize all 8 gears vs using L7 for reasons 1, 2 and 3 above. 5) It seems (although I don’t have many miles using it yet) the engine is never “lugging along “ like it did the few times I actually had transitioned into V4 mode, this could just be my perception of it all. 6) The transition from V8 to V4 and back to V8 was like a human being experiencing a heartbeat irregularity, might not be fatal but then it could be. Finally) Because I spent good money on a Borla ATAK cat-back exhaust system and it sounds like garbage when it went into V4 mode. I do thank you for asking in a very adult, respectful way ?
