The Eibachs have arrived (almost 2 weeks), but I'm still waiting on the RC 2" rear blocks and bolts which should be here Friday. I'll document the install and post photos after I complete the install this coming weekend. I know quite a few people have questioned the actual install height with the shocks, vs springs, vs shocks and springs combo, so I'll photograph the install sheet that has those dimensions soon and post them here as well.3 points

Well I caved and ended up buying the oem larger under seat storage. I knew it would be a perfect fit and some of the aftermarket options always had the one thing that made me double think it.. like one of them needing a strap to secure it when there are existing studs available for the factory jack/tools. Picked up the storage today and doing more test fitting. Already have my main power cable ran (disconnected at battery). This is my current test fitment. Trying to finalize this before I start connecting wires etc.2 points

An additional 2450 death has been recorded in the US today. The total number of Covid-19 cases around the world is now 3 million. I feel like things will never be the same even if the pandemic is over. My brother is already tired from a 12 hours shift so that he can take care of his patients. He is trying to be optimistic every time I talk to him, how can you argue with someone who is passionate about helping others. He is lucky that both his SWAB test results are negative even if he is experiencing sore throat and fever, he badly needs to rest.2 points

Alternator is 'managed' by the computer -- it is not a simple voltage regulator like in days gone by. There is a long list of things it uses to determine what output level it sets for the alternator.2 points

I bet the oil consumption goes down if you turn off the AFM but it will still probably burn a little bit of oil.2 points

I just bought some kitchen cabinets at at home supply and painted them. I had a shop here that makes stainless counters for restaurants make me a counter top to fit. Here are a few more pics for those that have never seen my garage over the years. I have been slowly doing stuff to it for about 15 years.2 points

Seriously, spend last than $20 and get new adjusters, springs, etc. They wear out from use and heat cycling... er... "less than"2 points

Top tier 93 for me. Topic has been beat to death here but there’s really no excuse for cheaping out on fuel with a performance engine. Especially when oil was -$37 a barrel just a couple days ago. ?2 points

I would say no, but a pic of one of the front struts top to bottom from the front of the truck would help. Sent from my LG-G710 using Tapatalk1 point

Unfortunately, meat packing plants are past that now, so an Executive Order will be signed for these plants to remain open, some have to reopen. The conundrum, an Executive Order can keep the plants open, but to my knowledge, can't force a worker (sick or not) back to work.1 point

The main reason the 6.0 is seen as the workhorse is the fact that it uses an iron block. Much more durable and less prone to heat related failure. It is said that you can run the 6.0 harder (more rpm for a longer time) than the 6.2L without risk of failure. I have had trucks with both engines. I never had the 6.0 in a 1500 however so trying to compare the two would be pointless. Two different tools made for two different jobs. Different but equal.1 point

On the farm, my grandfather had a 1985 Ram and a 1993 K1500 when I was growing up but he always had a nice car for driving to town or to church. Chrysler, Buick or, more recently, Lexus.1 point

Welcome to this forum! I like your idea of creating a solid look. Truck bumpers should at least appear to serve a function and not be a decorative strip of chrome or a coloured accent. I'd suggest leaving the bumper stock and save, plan and shop for a custom bumper. I know this is a bizarre suggestion when you are looking for a low cost fix but I find half the enjoyment is setting the goal and the ongoing search. No need to settle for second best or compromise as you've already have a good looking truck!1 point

Hey everyone. I need some quick help please! I am getting new wheels and tires Wheels: Method bronze nv 18x9 -12mm offset Tires: Nitto Trail Grapplers 33x12.5 I am concerned about rubbing and am hoping for some input from knowledgeable people or similar setups. More than looks good, looks great! Certainly not the cheapest and wouldn't be my first choice if purchased solely for off road use. But I may get one and this one would be it solely for the appearance factor. Not planning to go off road so this one would be worth the extra bucks, if for nothing else it is an excellent contrast match for a painted RST front and perfect match in color, finish and recessed logo for the OEM sports bar.1 point

I’ve seen some nice mesh inserts and aluminum inserts that guys have made themselves for under $100 and a Saturday. Make a template and transfer it onto something you like or pick up another matching grill and cut it to fit the space.1 point

There is no AFM plate in the oil pan. There is only a oil pressure relief valve on the pan where the oil filter goes, if you remove the AFM/DoD system you can remove the valve and plug the hole. You should gain 5-10psi easy in overall oil pressure. Doing the chain and stuff is up to you. They all have slack, even new chains. You will have to decide if you want to keep VVT or delete that too. If you do remove it all, go with a standard 3 bolt camshaft and get a new 3 bolt 4X camshaft gear. The factory gear for the GEN 4 engines are a single bolt camshaft. Fuel system is not an issue. You will have plenty of injector head room and fuel pump for a mild camshaft upgrade. Not much else to do when you change all the other parts. New head gaskets and bolts etc etc. If you do the steps right you aren't going to pop a gasket or run into problems. Also note that doing a AFM/DoD delete and VVT delete will require a custom tune before you can even let the truck run. With all those parts removed it will probably run on 4 cylinders if you're lucky because that stuff needs to be shut off. Then the camshaft will need tuning to dial everything else in.1 point

Took mine to get a 5% strip across the windshield. Helps block some sun from coming in. Didn’t want to tint the whole windshield because I wasn’t sure how much it would affect visibility. I’ll snag some pics soon.1 point

I had a farm truck from 1998 till 2018 with 320,000 on the original engine. Power nothing. It killed me to finally get it off the street and sell it to a laborer for $800. Best vehicle I ever owned. F150 4.9L1 point

Dude - I dont think you understand my level of commitment. Called those numbers. Spoke with 12 Canadian dealerships. LITERALLY spoke with a female who is the vice president of marketing for GM in Canada. She was the one that told me I can only have someone in Canada purchase it for me. I have done an EBAY search every day for 22 days.1 point

Clyde is up to 152,789 miles and counting. This year has been busy. New Radiator, hoses, tstat, and condenser in January, new driveline fluids in March, and brake service here 2 weeks ago. Recently updated my navigation and replaced the driver's seat lumbar module too. Ready for many many many many many more!1 point

Yes, it’s normal. Most GMs are set to 4000. I believe the main reason is to protect the torque converter. Free-revving is a goofball thing to do in a pickup truck anyway. ?1 point

really the dealer should be responsible....they sold you a brand new truck they put the lift on and charged a pretty penny for sure....it has warranty and should be sold just like any other factory vehicle....not to mention you just spent 60-70k at their place of business.....that's the route I would be taking.... than begs question did they calibrate the steering, etc.... they should take care of it without hesitation.....if you mentioned this prior to signing they wouldn't even hesitate, or they would just lie, lol1 point

Here’s one for ya. I bought a set of 285/70/17’s for my 2010 2 wheel drive. Rode great, really quiet and a good semi-soft tire. I put a lot of highway miles on them back and forth from Cali and Vegas back here to Arizona. Took them off-road when I could and although they started chunking off when I got into big boulder type rocks, they rarely got me stuck. They had the cracking on all of them if I remember correctly also. One thing I didn’t do as often as I should was have them rotated. They tend to start cupping which was the source of the only road noise I ever had. I drove those things into the ground when my wife called and said she had a flat. Tread had actually come off of one [emoji51]. Best part, I got over 70k miles on them! The guy at discount was shocked when he looked it up. I thought about buying something cheaper but ended up getting the exact same tires again. I have never owned a set of A/T’s before but it’s gonna be pretty hard getting me to switch now. When I traded my 15 for an 18, I wanted those removable cupholders. I went to GM parts direct and ordered part number 23467111, which is the top section of the console and includes the cupholders for the 14-15 trucks. The only thing you can't get is the rubber mat that sits in the bottom of the big storage area.1 point
